A Mistake?

Beomgyu and I were having a lot of fun dancing together. He finally let himself loose, and it was nice to see a big smile on his face. Until my dumb ass went ahead and ruined everything.

He had dipped me. My grip was tight on his shoulders, as was his arms on my waist. A few seconds later, he pulls me back up, and our bodies collide, our faces almost an inch apart. It almost felt as if time had completely slowed down, and it was just him and I and nothing else.

This is the part where I ruin everything, by the way.

His eyes, they stare deep into mine, and I almost have the urge to look away to regain my breath. But how could I look away when he's staring at me like I'm the only person in the entire world? He's got such beautiful eyes, large and brown. It's almost as if I can see tiny specks of starts lit up in his eyes. His hair falls into his eyes, and I fight to urge to tuck it away. His lips part in surprise, his breath still. I hear my heart pounding in my ears, and I almost feel dizzy due to his touch.

Something sparks inside me just then. My mind is racing, thoughts running. It's telling me, "No, no, no!" but I hear none of it. My heart races even faster, urging me. My gaze travels down to his lips. They look so soft, so pretty. So kissable.

I lean forward very slowly, trying to read his body language. Surprisingly, he closes his eyes. His grip on my waist falters, and I tighten my grip on his shoulder, bringing him closer to me. I close my eyes, our lips are almost a breath away from each other. Just then- whack!

Somebody's elbow shoves deep into my shoulder, and I lose my balance. My face, that was barely an inch apart from his, now rests in the crook of his neck. He makes a noise when my nose accidentally brushes his neck. I bring my face back up, looking up to him. His eyes are as wide as saucers, his breath still. I loosen my grip on his shoulder and let go of him. His hands drop to his side as they leave their previous position on my waist.

We stay still awkwardly. His hand rests at the back of his neck, and he holds his head down in embarrassment. I shift my balance from one foot to the other, rocking on the heels of my boots back and forth. "Woah, who was that who bumped into you, haha?" he asks awkwardly, scratching his head.

"Haha, no idea. The bastard got away without an apology."

"Not- not that I think it's funny or anything you know, someone bumping into you. I- I wasn't laughing because of that, you know," he explains earnestly.

"Oh yeah, yeah, totally," I nod.

Awkward silence.

He clears his throat. I cough. More silence.

"I- I think Ryu's calling me," I say, grabbing my phone. She isn't. "Oop, gotta go, bye."

"Oh yeah, I'll- I'll go find Kai. He's gotta be here somewhere." He mutters the last bit.

We awkwardly high-five each other and split our separate ways. I sigh as soon as he's out of earshot. Time to go cry to Ryu.

I find her dancing with Yeonjun and grab her arm , pulling her away from him. He lets out a noise in protest. "Go find Beomgyu," I tell him. "Just uh, keep an eye on him."

"Did you do something?" he questions suspiciously.

"Why does everyone think everything's my fault?" I complain. They both raise their brows at me. "Okay, maybe this was kinda my fault. But come on, don't shove the entire blame on me." They both give me a look. "Okay, I kinda sorta kinda...tried to kiss Beomgyu," I whisper, fiddling with my fingers.

"WHAT!" They both scream in unison. I slam my hands on both their mouths.

"Jun, just check up on him, please. I really hope I didn't make him uncomfortable," I say slowly.
