Part 11 The Truth

Ashley gazed at Jake with teary eyes. Her heart was filled with lots of emotions, be it pain, grief, or happiness. Living an orphaned life was something she never wanted but she has been living like this since six years. Now, when she got a chance to meet her mom because of Jake, all her trials of living like a strong minded girl, brought the pain out that she has been hiding inside her from so long.

"Do you believe me now?" Jake uttered coming near her. Ashley sat down on her bed slowly.

"I met my mom today because of...you..." She said after sometime and took a pause. Jake waited patiently.

"I don't know who you are and where you came from...all I know that my mind was filled with your thoughts since the time you hit me near the river side. I felt a connection with you...the connection..." She moved her eyes from his side towards the ceiling and then continued as if she didn't want to say her heart out for some reasons, "The connection that seems like a dream to me now." She went quiet. Jake listened to her words without saying anything. 

Apparently, the silence came again between them.

"This is not a dream..." Jake began after a while and then he went near the window sill to look out at the dark sky filled with scattered stars.

"It's true, everything that you saw today is real. I have been time travelling from a long time to meet you in this time Ashley." He said and became silent.

Ashley was now sitting on her bed, with her knees folded and her hand crossing across them. The name 'time travel', ascended her curiosity and fear at the same moment. 

"It was on 31st December 2012, when my life changed. My sister got abducted by some persons who gave me this thing to time travel and find you." He looked at the watch fixed at his right hand wrist. The face of his sister Lina came before his eyes and he sighed.

"You know what's the best thing about this time travel?" He turned to look at Ashley who became stunned suddenly with his change of voice, that seemed joyful and in pain at the same time.

"The time has passed for just 11 hours in my time zone and I still have two days and thirteen hours left to find my sister..." He went mum and then walked towards her slowly and sat on the chair near the table.

"And now when I found you, I think I can save her." He said and tried to smile but changed his expression quickly. Ashley seemed confused and a chilling fear ran through her spine.

"What do you mean?" She enquired in a whisper while Jake was looking at the photo of Abby and Ashley and Henry. He moved his eyes from the frame to Ashley.

"You are my savior, Ashley..." He said, "The abductors who took my sister, asked me to bring you from the year 2022 to 2013. I didn't know who was Ashley and why they wanted me to bring her but that's the truth. They have supernatural powers and I lost my dad too because of them." He stopped whereas Ashley looked troubled and terrified by his words. 

Although, she already lived the moment of supernatural thing by meeting her mom but his description has now instilled a terror inside her and she shivered with fear. 

She was afraid to ask anything then. She just wished that meeting Jake could be a dream only and she would wake up from this dream but unfortunately, it was all true.
