Chapter 49

Courtney's POV

I walked downstairs to see Millie and some of the boys in a group hug. Then I slide on my converse and walk out the door since I needed some fresh air.

As my feet thump across the concrete, the hairs on the back of my neck slowly stand up. I freeze, and quickly turn my head around, my eyes scanning all of my surroundings.

That's when I see a black car that had tinted windows with 2 teenage boys. Immediately I start to sprint away from them as I hear their engine rev up. My eyes look for a hiding place and I spit some bushes, which I quickly dive behind.

My breathing, which was once heavy, now starts to slowly subside. I gasp with relief as I hear their engine fade away to nothing.

Standing up, my muscles relax and I start to run back to the house. That's when I hear the engine, again. It became new louder as I sprint the fastest I could. The wind hit my face and I gasped for breath, but didn't dare give up, because I knew they were on my tail.

When our house came into view, I used my last burst of energy to get to the door and once I did I slammed it open and quickly locked it.

The noise caused all of the pack and Millie to rush over to me, clearly concerned and curious of what I had just encountered.

"What happened!?" Mitch asks.

"Are you alright?" Preston asks.

"Tell us everything!" Lachlan and Vikk say.

My tired feet carry my legs over to the living room couch where I flop down and begin my energizing story.

When I finish, the whole room is silent and I see everyone trying to process what I explained.

"Wow. Did you see who it was?" Rob asks.

I shake my head. "The had tinted windows and sunglasses and hats on. I couldn't tell at all." I explain to him.

"Well the good thing is that your alight." Jerome says and hugs me, causing everyone else to hug me and creating a giant group hug.

"Now, let's get some food and drank!" Mitch says excitedly.

We all agree and walk out to the car, me and Mitch holding hands. I was extremely tired from all that endurance so I leaned my head onto Lachlan's shoulder, and slowly fell asleep.
