Courtney's POV

I was walking through the park looking for Millie. She has been really upset lately and I wanted to find out what was wrong.

"Millie!" I yelled, cupping my hands around my mouth. "Where are you?!"

I walked to the edge of the park mergers building. Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure, anxiously waiting for cars to pass.

"Millie!!!!" I yelled towards the figure, and began to ran.

They turned towards me, and began running across the crosswalk, trying to get away. But, the light clicked green, yet she couldn't see it.

"MILLIE DONT RUN ACROSS THERE!!!" I yelled sprinting faster.

A car came, driving quickly down the street. It seemed as if what happened next happened on slow motion. Millie seeing the car, getting hit, and then falling.

"'NO! MILLIE." I cried out, running closer to her body.

"Millie! Millie!" I cried out, bending over her, but was pushed to the side by a cop. Soon, sirens were heard and paramedics were over her. I opened my phone and called the pack, shaking. I stuttered and cried, but they understood and were on their way.

I turn my head to the side and bury it in my hands. Chest racking sobs escape my mouth, and tears flow down my cheeks and onto the ground. A pair of arms wrapped around me, it was Preston. I cried into Preston's chest and he cried into my hair, holding my tightly. They wouldn't show us Millie, and by that they didn't have to say more. She was dead for sure, and she wasn't coming back. Their faces gave it away. I ran over to Millie and hugged her, sobbing now that my best friend and sister was dead.

"I'm sorry Millie. I wasn't there to help you." I say, holding her hand now. And as they wheeled her away I could only think of one thing.

I could've saved her, but I didn't.
