Izzy
The next day I woke up with a slight headache. I went to bed soon after talking with my dad. When I finally make it downstairs my mom is pouring coffee into a cup. "Morning."
"Morning," I mumble.
My mom laughs and pats my head as she makes her way to the door. "Mark is going to take Tina's dance practice and I'll be at work so we'll both be getting home late."
"Okay love you."
My mom blows me a kiss as she walks out the front door.
Great an entire day to myself. Exactly what I wanted. Note the sarcasm.

Luckily Stacy texted me saying she wanted to meet me for breakfast.
I get dressed and drive to Waffle House.
"Girl that skirt is adorable." Stacy gushes as she sits down.
I smile. "I made it out of a pair of boy jeans shorts."
"Well, they're supper sexy."
I laugh. One nice thing about being friends with Stacy is I have someone who shares my interest in clothes. I love Katie to death but she has a horrible fashion sense.
"How are you dear?" I ask in an accent.
Stacy smiles. "Absolutely wonderful."
I giggle at her attempt at a British accent.
We both order waffles and toast.
"So how was the beach?" Stacy asks while wiggling her eyebrows.
"It was nice."
She narrows her eyes. "I feel like you're holding something back."
I sigh. In the short time I've known Stacy she has been able to pick up on all my body language.
"Me and Tyler are having a bit of a rough patch."
Stacy chokes on her water. "What?"
"We have been fighting a lot."
She shakes her head. "Wow, that's surprising."
"Not everyone's like you and Jacob," I snap.
Stacy gives me a knowing look. "Jacob and I have had our fair share of fights."
I give her an apologetic smile.
"What are these fights about?"
That's all it takes for my floodgates to open. I tell her everything.
Stacy dabs her lips with a napkin. "And that's what your father said last night?"
I lean back in my seat full of all the food I devoured. "Yes. I think he might have a point."
"Yeah, but is it what you want?"
I look down. No, it's not what I want. But my dad has a point, I need to work on myself. And taking a break from Tyler seems like the only way to do it.
"Of course not. But for once I need to put myself first." I say quietly.
Stacy covers my hand with hers. "Do what you feel you need to do."
I smile. "Now it's your turn. What have you been up to?"
"Well, you know that I visited Jacob's family's ranch last week."
I swallow a laugh. Just trying to imagine Stacy at a dude ranch makes me break out into hysterics.
"Yeah, how did it go?"
