Izzy
As the wedding continued I danced with multiple people including Wyatt's mom Margret who taught me how to properly roll my hips.
Now I'm back at our table enjoying watching couples sway on the dance floor. Drew has been mingling with multiple people and I think he got one guy's number, but I'm not sure.
"Hey, Iggy," He says as he sits down beside me.
"Hey Drewy," I sing.
He bops my nose. "Where is your long lost lover?"
I roll my eyes at his joke. "I don't know I haven't seen him in a while."
Drew nods. "How are you feeling?"
I shrug. "Confused. I don't know what to do?"
Drew gives me a soft hug. "It will all work out."
"What if it doesn't?" I whisper.
He pulls away, keeping his hands on my shoulders. "It always does eventually."
I scoff and he gives me a pointed look. "One day you'll look back at this summer and laugh."
I push my lips together in hopes of keeping tears from falling. "I screwed up, Drew."
"Then fix it," He states.
"How?" I stutter.
"By being honest with yourself and him," Drew says softly.
I stand up and place a quick kiss on his cheek. "Thank you for always being you."
He nods his head. "Thank you for always being you," He replies with teasing grin.
I weave through guests till I reach the exit.
A warm breeze whips my hair around my face as I look for Tyler.
I push my hair out of my face for the twelfth time and I find Tyler sitting on a bench overlooking looking a lake.
I sit down beside him as he continues to stare at the water. The wind fills the silence between us. The water gently ripples with each breeze.
"How are you holding up," I ask.
Tyler sits back. "Good."
"Then why are you out here," I question.
His eyes meet mine and a ghost of a smile spreads across his lips. "Because I couldn't bare watching the couples."
I nod in understanding. "These past two weeks have really sucked," Tyler admits.
"Hell, this whole summer has," He adds.
I laugh quietly and he lets out a breath. "My dad has a son that needs a kidney," Tyler whispers.
My eyes widen, but I keep my expression neutral. "Wow."
"Yeah, and I kind of feel like a dick because of how I acted when I found out," Tyler says dryly.
I place my hand on his shoulder. Tingles shoot up my hand. "Then fix it," I say, repeating exactly what Drew told me to do.
Tyler stares at me. "If only it was that easy."
I shrug. "You never know till you try."
The silence returns with us both staring at the lake.
"I broke up with Olivia," Tyler blurts.
"Oh," I say simply.
"Yeah, Kat was right. I was desperate for a girlfriend."
