Peter laid with his head on the bedside, his hands holding onto Samantha's like a lifeline. Unseen bandages were wrapped around his body, limiting his movements, but he stayed by Samantha the whole time.
Tony had been in and out, forcing Peter to eat, talking with him, sitting in silence beside the boy who was practically his son. But all the while Peter remained silent. He would stare blankly at Samantha, willing her to wake up. He didn't want to live in a world without Wing Girl.
During all of this Morgan had been detained in a single cell room, symbols painted all over the walls to keep her inside. Dean and Shek had discovered a cure for her but they needed Samantha's blood and they didn't want to do anything until she was awake and healthy.
"P-Peter?" She whispered, her eyes dancing behind the lids.
At the small voice Peter's head shot up and looked down at his wounded bird. "I- I'm here. I'm here Wing Girl." He croaked and stroked the side of her face.
She so desperately wanted to say more, open her eyes and see her love but she was trapped and exhausted. She whimpered in frustration and held his hand tightly.
"Sh-h-h, it's okay. Don't over work yourself. You were in a coma for almost a month, you won't be able to do much for a while." He reassured her and massaged her hand with his thumb.
A single tear slid down her cheek as she listened to his words. She had almost slipped away. She thought she was going to leave him and she felt so ashamed for that.
Peter leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. "I'll go get your dad and then I'll be right back. I promise." He said, but he couldn't let go of her hand, couldn't stand up. He thought she was going to die in his arms that day, that he was going to loose her. He shook his head then finally forced himself to move and walk out of the hospital room.
When Peter's presence left Samantha began to whimper and cry out. She didn't want to be alone. She couldn't be alone. She needed Peter back right now.
At first Peter walked down the halls but as the urge to be by her side increased he found himself in a steady jog as he searched for Dean's room. Once he finally found the right door he knocked several times and waited for a reply.
Dean opened the door and looked down at the tired boy in front of him. "Peter, I didn't expect it to be you."
"She's awake. Samantha's awake." He said quickly then ran back towards her room.
Dean's eyes widened after hearing that news and took off after Peter. His baby was alive and awake. His daughter was going to pull through. He slowly stopped and pinched the bridge of his nose.
He had two daughters now. He should be equally concerned about both of them, but he wasn't. And he hated that. Morgan had tried to kill Samantha and Peter and it would take a long time to forgive her for that. But Samantha had been able to do it in a heartbeat. Why couldn't he do the same for his broken girl?
