Chapter Two
Samantha started to laughed. "Oh yeah... Nick Fury, right."
Nick gave a smirk. "What you don't believe me?"
"Of course not. Nick Fury is a character from a comic book. I should know, I read enough of them." Samantha smile fell to a frown. She stood up and straight and crossed her arms.
"And where do you think the comics came from?" Fury had an amused smile on his lips. Samantha's face dropped in disbelief. SHIELD was real? The Avengers were real? No that would be impossible,., I mean how could it be? She never heard about an attack on New York, or a god fall from the sky.
"Then why haven't there been any news broadcasts about an alien attack or Captain America?"
"Do you think we want citizens to know that there are higher powers out there? Powers that can't be controlled? I think you know a lot about that given your position."
"Position? What do you mean by that?" Samantha raised an eyebrow.
"A Hunter," Fury answered. He smirked at Samantha's surprised face.
"How do you know about Hunters? Nobody but Hunters know about Hunters."
Fury chuckled. "Do you think we wouldn't notice angels falling from the sky, or the apocalypse. We've always been monitoring Hunters, just not you. So what are you?"
"Why should I tell you? For you to hurt me?" Samantha stood her ground, but felt that she no longer had her advantage. They knew what angels were, so they could easily figure out what she was.
"We aren't going to hurt you Samantha. I know that doctor is a dick, and I can be too, but not now."
"Why should I trust you?" she asked.
"You can't but it's me or the doctor. Which one is it?"
Samantha bit her bottom lip in thought. "Fine,"she complied.
"Good now follow me."
"Where are we going?" Samantha asked,
"You'll see."
