Chapter Seven

The next day before Samantha did anything she frantically searched for Peter, wearing her new leather jacket. She couldn't believe he had actually made this for her, and in only a few hours too.

After only a few minutes of looking she finally found him walking into the cafeteria for breakfast.

"Pete!" she called and ran over to him, a huge grin on her face.

He turned around when he heard his name just as she ran into him, giving him a hug. "Whoa, hey! What's that for?" he chuckled as he tried not to fall over.

"Thank you so much for my suit. It's perfect." She smiled as she hugged him tighter.

"No problem. That one... Wait for it.... 'suits' you better."

She rolled her eyes and she backed away from him. "That was really bad."

"I thought it was actually pretty good."

She shook her head and laughed. "No, it wasn't. That was worse than the jokes my dad makes."

"Well I'm honored I beat your dad at terrible jokes." he bowed with a little smirk.

"I want to go try it out in the training center!" she said as she grabbed his hand and tried to pull him away from the cafeteria.

"But.... breakfast..." he whimpered and gave her puppy eyes.

She smirked as she opened her wings and made them appear in the training center. Peter let go of her hand and fell to the ground with a groan.

"Fooooood!" he groaned pitifully.

"Get up bug boy! I need your help! I'll give you some cookies I stole from Tony." She bribed him in a sing song voice.

He immediately stood up. "What do I have to do?"

"I need you to catch me if I fall. I- I've never actually tried to fly before." she admitted and looked down.

"Wait, wait, wait, hold up. You're a nephilim, and you've never flown?"

"I've never really had a reason too. I can just zap myself places but I figured 'hey, if I was ever given a mission being able to fly might be useful' so here I am."

"Here you are. So let's get to it then. Fly Wing Girl." he clapped his hands together and took a step back.

She took a deep breath and spread her wings out as far as they could go which was a good fifteen feet at least. As she stretched them you could see the pitch feathers flutter as the strong muscles rippled underneath them. In the training room lights the usually dark feathers were a rainbow of blues, greens and deep violets, making them look even more beautiful than what they already were.

With a great surge of energy she beat them once, twice, six times and yet nothing happened. She let out a puff of air and stomped her foot in frustration.

"Well as amazing as that looked I think you need to beat them harder and faster. But that's just me." Pete quickly added at the end.

She looked at him and nodded in approval before she took another deep breath and licked her dry lips. Taking his advice she beat her wings much faster and harder causing a small wind to wip her hair in and out of her face.

Before she knew it she felt her feet begin to leave the ground and hear Pete's laughter and applause as he watched her. She looked down and saw herself rise and higher and higher from the ground before she reached the ceiling.

As she looked around her she felt a laugh bubble up in her chest before she let it out, the first true laughter she had since she came to SHIELD. "Woohoo!" She cheered and spun around in a circle which was a bad idea.

When she spun her wings bent closer to her body and made her fall from the air. She frantically tried to reopen them but they were too heavy now that they were pressed to her body.

"Peter!" she cried as she went into free fall.

He shot a web around her and pulled in the slack so he knew he would catch her. Just as she was about to hit him he outstretched his arms and caught her, making him fall over backwards. Both of them let out small 'oofs' as they both landed awkwardly.

"Good thing you tagged along." she said breathlessly.

"You forced me to come." he groaned then looked up at her.

When they landed Peter had fallen onto his back and Samantha had landed on top of him, their faces inches apart from one another. As she looked down into his big, brown doe eyes she felt a blush rise up her neck and cover her cheeks and heat up her ears.

"Th-thanks for catching me." she stuttered as she rolled off of him and folded her wings back onto her back.

"How could I just let you fall?" he asked as he looked over at her.

She smiled and looked down only to look back up when he said her name; he had moved closer to her and their faces were the same distance apart from when she had landed on him. She couldn't help but feel butterflies fluttering in her stomach as she looked at him, not knowing he was feeling the same thing.

Before she knew what was happening he was softly pressing his lips to hers and placing his hand gently on her cheek. Her eyes widened at first but she then felt herself kissing him back and closing her eyes. It was official. She had fallen for the spider.

"I don't mean to interrupt anything..." a gravely voice spoke from in front of them.

They both quickly pulled away and looked at the man who had suddenly appeared in the training center.

"Cas?" she asked in disbelief.

"Um, yes, this is me." he replied a bit confused.

"Why are you here? How did you know where to find me?" She questioned as she slowly rose to her feet.

Pete's eyes were wide as he looked up at him. "He just appeared in the room...."

"To reply to your comment I'm an angel, I'm capable of doing that. And to answer your questions, your father prayed to me wanting me to come and get you."

"Daddy..." she whispered to herself then looked over at Peter.

He was now standing and looked over at her. He knew she was going to leave with this angel, he wasn't her family and she had no one here. He would leave too.

She stuck her hand out to him. "It was nice meeting you Peter Parker."

He slowly took her hand and shook it. "It was nice meeting you too Samantha Kansas Winchester."

She smiled then pulled him into a hug. "I'll miss you bug boy."

"I'll miss you too wing girl."

Her smile widened slightly until she pulled away and walked over to Castiel. He looked down at her then tapped her forehead, making both of them disappear from the room.

Dean looked up from where he was sitting on a motel bed when he heard a rush of air in the room. He smiled at her then watched as she collapsed onto the ground and began to shake violently in thirty second spans.

"Sammy!" he cried and ran over to her, kneeling down beside her and pulling her into his lap. "Baby what's wrong?"

"Sh-shocking. Something's shocking me." she replied breathlessly before her body convulsed again.

He looked up at Cas when he had an idea as to what was happening. "Get her back there!"

"But you told me to-"

"Take her back dammit!"

He nodded then tapped her forehead, sending her back to where he had found her with Peter.

Pete was walking out of the training center when he heard someone take a deep breath and cough roughly. He spun around on his heels to see Samantha laying on the ground breathing heavily. He ran over to her and slid on his knees.

"They put a god damn shock collar on me." she growled weakly. "Looks like you're stuck with me bug boy." She breathed and looked up at him.

He shrugged. "I guess I am. Welcome back to SHIELD."
