Chapter Five
It had been a week since Peter and Samantha had fought in the ring and had their row in the hall. Peter hadn't spoken to Samantha since then but she didn't mind one bit, she had been planning her escape from SHIELD. On her floor she laid out all of the knives she had, successfully, filched from the training center.
As she was organizing them by height three loud knocks were heard from the other side of her door. She scrambled to hide the knives from sight. "Uh, just a second!" she called as she threw a blanket over them then stuffed them under her bed.
When she opened the door she was half tempted to grab one of the knives and stab the person she saw. Peter Parker. She had ruined her work for him.
"Nick wants to see you." he said simply.
"Um, okay? He couldn't have told me himself?"
He simply shrugged but didn't move from where he stood in her doorway.
"Well tell Fury I'll meet him where ever in a few minutes. I'm busy."
"It doesn't work like that, you see I'm not a messenger boy, I'm a delivery boy." And with that he shot her waist so her arms were stuck to her sides and he held the other end like a leash. "Come along Samantha."
She growled at him and opened her wings so they cut through the webbing. "You see it doesn't work like that Peter. I'm a hunter not a pet."
He threw his hands in the air. "Alright, you win, I don't want to fight with you."
"Because you know I'll whip your ass like last time."
"Sure, if that's the only way I can get to your head."
She sighed and folded her wings back onto her back. "Where is Fury?"
"This way." he said then started walking down the hallway.
She groaned but then reluctantly followed him until she was walking beside him.
As they walked Peter would occasionally glance down at her then nonchalantly look at something else. She inwardly smirked at his obviousness. She wasn't stupid after all.
"See something you like Parker?" she finally asked him.
"What? No!" He said quickly, his cheeks turning the color of his suit.
"You're blushing web head."
"Am not!" he protested and looked away.
She chuckled to herself. "Point Samantha. What does that make it now? Two to zero?"
"What did you get a point for this time?" he asked her, finally looking back at her.
"Making you bend to my will. Last week I got you to call me ma'am and now I made you blush. So point me."
He rolled his eyes. "What was Fury thinking by letting you into the program?"
"Because you all clearly need me. Especially you. I'm surprised you're not dead bug boy."
"And what's that supposed to mean?" he demanded and crossed his arms.
"You're annoying, too quick to jump into action, cute, don't think things through-"
"Wait, wait, wait." he cut her off with a huge grin.
"What, I wasn't finished."
"You called me cute." His smile grew into the stupid, cocky grin he was known for.
This time it was her turn to blush. "N-no I didn't. I said cocky."
"No you didn't you clearly said cute. And now you're blushing!" he laughed. "What's the score now? Two to Two?"
"How did you get two!?"
"I a, made you call me cute and b, made you blush."
"Shut up." she mumbled and walked faster until she finally found Fury.
He chuckled then walked off to go find something to eat the was actually good.
Fury was at his desk looking through some papers. "Sit." he told her without even looking up.
"How did you-?"
"Sit." he said again then looked up at her with his one good eye.
This time she did as she was told and sat down in the chair directly across from him. When he saw her situated he went back to looking through his papers. After about ten minutes of this Samantha was growing annoyed.
"Do you need to speak with me or not sir because I have better things to-"
"Who do you consider your enemy?" he asked her.
"Pardon sir?"
"You heard what I said."
"Well Parker is a pain in the ass."
"No not your rival, your enemy. When they brought you here I knew I would gain new enemies, powerful enemies. I need to know who they are."
She swallowed hard as she thought of this because she knew exactly who her enemies were. "Crowley. His name is Crowley."
"And who is he?"
"He's the king of hell."
"I thought Lucifer was the ruler of hell."
She shook her head. "Lucifer is trapped in a cage with Michael. When the demons realized he couldn't get out Crowley took over."
"And he is your enemy?"
"He's all of our enemy. He'll stop at nothing to capture me and use me for his own purpose."
He nodded and rubbed his chin as he thought about this. "Thank you for sharing this information with me. You're dismissed."
"The angels."
This time it was his turn to look confused. "Pardon?"
She took a shaky breathe. "Revelation 12:9 'And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world-he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.' Those angels, they were the ones who brought nephilim into this world and God brought those angels before him and caste them down into hell. God himself said that the children of his soldiers were an abomination, that his sons and daughters had sinned. The angels want me dead Fury because of God's decision. God and his angels are my real enemy." And with that said she stood up and walked out of his office, leaving him to decide what he wanted to do with that information.
