Means to convince someone

HAR SHAKS NE MUJHE YAHI KEHKAR SAMJHA DIYA, KI SHAYAD YAHI LIKHA THA KHUDA NE MERE NASEEB MEIN

                                                                              SHIV

"Shiv, beta apne baare main nahi toh kam se kam apni beti ke baare mein toh soch. Use toh ek maa ki zaroorat hai."said my mother convincing me to marry again.

[Shiv, if not about yourself then think about your daughter at least. She needs a mother.]

Now this has been the only discussion topic since last two years going on in my family.

And even after denying thousand times, my mother still doesn't want to give up.

And right now, sitting at the dining table for breakfast and trying to eat fast and leave for office as soon as possible so that this topic doesn't become the reason of fiasco in the home, I tried to reply politely but couldn't hide the irritation in my tone.

"Please maa, not again" I said showing her that how irritating this topic is for me.

[Mother]

" My answer will not be going to change even if you ask this same thing to me every minute of the day" I said thinking for once that she realizes that it's hard for me to even think about marrying again.

"Calm down your damn tone, shiv" my father said glaring at me.

He continued" We all know that it's not easy for you. It's not easy for us also. But at least we are trying, trying to accept that Aarohi had left this world and is not going to come back."

I fisted my hand under the dining table and closed my eyes listening to him and try to control my emotions.

"You are only thinking about yourself, your love, your loyalty towards her but what about that little girl who is without mother since she is born. No matter how much we love her still we can't take place of a mother."_________

" Exactly my point" I interrupted him in between raising my voice and continued " No one can take a place of a mother, so how are you both so sure that the girl I will marry will treat her like her own daughter. I am not selfish; I always think about my Aashi before me."

"And maa, you tell me" I said turning towards my mother " Didn't I agree to have someone from outside as a caretaker for her even when I don't trust anyone besides you all, what's the name of that girl you selected as a nanny for her"_______

[Mother]

"Roohi " said my mother looking at me softly.

" Yeah, Roohi. So now, what's the problem when we have her as a caretaker. Why are you again bringing this topic of marriage from last two months when you yourself were satisfied." I said.

"Haan beta, pr roohi uske saath pura din toh nahi reh sakti na, ek bacche ko toh ma ki zaroorat pura din hoti hai aur fir tu bhi toh pura din itna thak jata hai kaam ke baad aur fir raat mein Aashi ki vajah s khud bhi nhi so pata"_______

[Yes son, but Roohi cannot live with her whole day, a child needs a mother for entire day. And you also get tired after so much of work and couldn't get to sleep because of your baby at night]

"Haan maa, par mujhe usse koi pareshani nahi h" I said interrupting her in between and continued further " vo meri beti h, mai rakh lunga uska dhyan mujhe nahi chahiye kisi ki help." I said but she cut me in between by saying.

[Yes mom, but I don't have any problem in that. She is my daughter; I will take care of her. I don't need anyone's help]

" lekin mujhe hai pareshani , pichle teen saal se tujhe pareshan dekhri hu, nahi dekh sakti aur tujhe aise, aise yoon apni zindagi kharab karte. Beta tujhe bhi aage ek saathi ki zaroorat padegi jisse tu apne dil ki baat keh sake uspe depend ho sake aur tu kitni bhi koshish karle ek bache ko ma aur baap dono ki zaroorat hoti hai.
