You've been trying to get out of the grip of a cat and a tiger for more than half an hour and quietly got down the bed stretching your hands.
The scented candles did work... For them. They've been sleeping for more than 8 hours and aren't going to wake up any time soon.
After a quick fresh up, you walk out of the house to the front yard, It's early, only 7:30. The sun isn't too strong.
You sat down on the green grass, opened the screen, and the date caught your eyes. It's the 4th of August, which means tomorrow is your birthday, and you had completely forgotten about it.

How foolish I've been? Forgetting everything.

Birthdays were your thing, but not anymore. You lost your dad, a day after your birthday, on the 6th of August, and since then you find an excuse to not celebrate your day every year. And right now there's nothing more you wish except for the boys to forget your birthday.

You flinched a bit at his question and turned around to find him walking closer with two cups in his hands.

You said ignoring the tears that threatened to fall.
🍒I woke up when you got off the bed, but decided to make coffee for us, before finding you.
He said handing you the coffee. He sat down next to you and stared at you for a minute before continuing.

You chuckled at his statement before sipping on your coffee.

You tightened the grip on the handle, and forced a smile on your face, before turning to him,

🍒But people never try to be the reason for their own sorrow. How long are you going to refrain yourself, and your heart from enjoying life?
👶I don't know, happiness never got me anywhere. Every time, every single time, I've been happy, I've lost something. It's better to keep myself in line, so it won't be more painful than it already is. I'm broken and I intend to keep myself that way. I'm afraid if I try to mend myself, I'll be left broken again. And I'm too weak to endure the pain all over again.

He pulled you closer, you leaned onto his shoulder. He took your left hand as he carelessly drew circles on it.
