Y/N's POV
The last day of school finally came to pass and I could focus most of my time on finding Betty. It was the last period and the teacher let us do whatever we wanted to. I had Betty's copy of Little Women with me and chose to read it. I was able to read a few pages before it was grabbed out of my hands.

"What's this, bitch," Greta said glaring.

"Give that back!"

She stared at it, holding it up in the air. "Give that back," she said mockingly. She kicked me to the ground as she dangled it above me. "This book is bullshit, you know, and someone like you doesn't need it," she said as she ripped the book in half then threw it at me.

I scrambled to pick up all the pieces and get them in my bag. I sat down at my desk for the rest of the class, extremely upset since it was one of the only pieces of Betty I had left. Now all I had left was the 1984 book and a friendship necklace. I stood up, enraged and called to Greta, "hey whore."

She turned around and I immediately punched her in the face and she fell back, "go crawl back into the hole that you crawled out of. Maybe with Henry Bowers. You seem to be a match made in heaven."

Just then, the bell rang and I ran out of the classroom and to my locker. I had a couple things left but not much. I looked at the hand I punched Greta with and saw that it was somewhat bloody and becoming bruised, "shit."

I put all of my stuff into my bag, including my beret, and pulled out a small emergency first aid kit. I sighed, knowing I fucked up but tried to ignore it as I wrapped my hand up with gauze.

"This super Jew-y test," I heard someone say as they walked past. I somewhat ignored it and focused on putting the sticky wrapping around the gauze. It was blue since that was the only one I had access to. The color stuck out like a sore thumb in comparison to my outfit. I put the first aid kit into my backpack then slammed my locker shut. I walked through the hallway towards the front of the school, noticing that Greta was angrily stomping through the hall. I saw as her face was red and I booked it outside. I sighed, looking out towards all the students making their way off the school grounds.

As I looked out, I saw Mrs. Ripsom standing there, clearly hoping to find Betty. I walked over to her and smiled, "I'm sure she'll be found soon."

"I hope so... I'm starting to lose all hope and this is all taking a toll on me and Mr. Ripsom."

"I'll try to find her. I have more time to look now since school's out."

She turned towards me, "I understand that you'll try to find her but I don't want you to go missing either. What's with your hand?"

"Oh... I punched someone," I said with a laugh.

She sighed, "why'd you punch someone?"

"She ripped up Betty's Little Women book."

"You've got to be fucking kidding me," she said with a face palm, "I'm sorry Y/N."

"No, I'm sorry. I feel like I'm not doing enough. I want to but it's hard."

"Don't worry, just be safe this summer, try to be a kid cause these days won't last," she said then we hugged. We then pulled away from the hug and she smiled, "I hope your evening is better."

"I'll make sure it is," I said with a smile, "I hope you relax this summer. I'll see you soon, goodbye."

I then walked away from her and closer to where the school busses were. I might look towards the river for Betty tomorrow. I might go towards the sewer pipe. You need to look wherever you can to find someone.

"You think they'll actually find her," I heard a curly hair boy next to a trash can ask his friends.

"Sure. In a ditch, all decomposed covered in worms and maggots, smelling like Eddie's mom's underwear," a boy with glasses responded. I ended up staring at him, anger slowly boiling up in me. I got pushed down by someone, not being able to overhear who they were talking about. I was certain it was about Betty though. I looked to see who pushed me and saw Henry quickly glare back at me. I stood up and walked towards him, he was next to the group of boys who I heard.

"You cunt," I screamed at Henry, "you're a piece of shit you know! I bet your dad fucking hates you!"

Him and his gang glared at me while glancing over to the guys and he piped up, "did you say something basket case?"

I saw one of the guys from the group in my peripheral and he spoke up, not in my defense but in his friends and his own.

"You s-s-suck Bowers," he yelled. I saw them look over towards him instead.

"You s-s-say something, B-B-Billy? You got a free ride this year cause of your little brother. Ride's over, Denbrough."

"Bill Denbrough," I whispered confused, his family became the talk of the town for a bit due to his brother. Then Betty went missing and she became the talk of the town. I heard them say something to the boys and then I got pushed down again. This time it was by Belch, he pushed harder than Henry.

"And you got a pass from me too this year, Y/N. This summer is gonna be hell for you. Maybe you'll be reunited with Ripsom soon," Henry said with a sly smile.

"Piss off, asshole," I said as the gang kicked me one after the other and left.

"What the fuck just happened," one of them said as I was on the ground, aching.

"Something we didn't expect," one of them responded.

I tried to get up but somewhat failed due to wincing in pain.

I was able to stand up enough to look at them. Four boys, one with glasses, one with curly hair, one with a fanny pack, and then Bill Denbrough.

Bill tried to help me up more, "a-a-are you o-okay?"

"Bill, are you stupid, she just got pushed down and kicked," glasses boy said.

"Richie, don't be a jerk," the curly hair boy said.

"Shut up, Stan."

I looked at them, confused and in pain. The last one spoke up, "what happened to your hand?"

"I might've punched Greta," I told him, "destroyed my best friend's property."

"S-So that's what t-t-they m-meant..."

"What," the fanny pack boy asked, clearly confused.

"Isn't it obvious, Eddie? Her best friend is Betty Ripsom," Stan said.

"Yeah...," I said softly.

"Oh shit. Oh shit. I'm so sorry," Richie said quickly.

I looked at him confused while finally being able to stand up fully, "what?"

"I-I-I don't think h-he's gonna tell y-y-y-you. He m-may be the t-trashmouth but he doesn't s-s-seem to share anything s-s-serious."

"Okay then?"

"Do you need any help home," Stan asked me.

"No. I walked to school today so I should be fine."

"Are you sure," Eddie asked, "you literally got beaten up."

"I'd rather go home alone, please."

"O-O-Okay. Stay s-s-s-safe," Bill said and I walked away, making it home safe. I had dinner with my parents then went to bed.

I will find you, Betty.
