Y/N's POV

"You look beautiful," Eddie said while looking at me like I was the only girl in the world. All I was wearing was a simple black shirt with a plaid skirt.

"Thanks Eds, you look great too."

We ended up going downtown and to a small and quaint diner. It was a seat yourself situation so we just sat in a little corner booth. A middle-aged woman came over and gave us menus to look at.

"So school is coming up in a bit," I mentioned while looking through the breakfast section.

"Yeah... I don't wanna deal with that. At least we'll be together," he said with a smile.

I smiled back and looked at the other sections while just thinking of his cute smile and what else we might do today. The lady ended up coming back and we both ordered. He got a basic cheeseburger while I got some pancakes. He ended up getting a milkshake while I got apple juice. We just talked about random stuff while eating. He shared the milkshake, I shared the pancakes. It was fun. We ended up finishing the food and paying. We decided to walk around downtown.

"Why don't we go there," I say pointing to a thrift store. He nodded and we walked in. We looked around seeing all of the clothes, books, toys, and other items. I walked over to the random household goods and held up a random tray and laughed while looking at Eddie, "this is your mom's type."

"Yeah," he said taking the tray from me, "she has an odd taste in style."

"Well, isn't that nice."

"How else am I supposed to put it," he said with a laugh.

"Fair point," I said and looked over, "hey there's a section you might like."

I pointed at it and he nodded, running over to the section. I walked over to a different section, the hat section. I looked at all the different styles and found a beautiful blush pink beret. It would be perfect for my outfit. I looked at the price and checked how much money I had. I was short by a lot. I sighed while placing it back down and went over to the holiday section. While I looked over that section, I felt a hand on my shoulder. As I turned, I saw the soft and warm smile from Eddie.

"Ready to go?"

I nodded and we walked towards the exit. "I have to buy something real quick. Can you wait for me outside?"

I nodded and walked outside. He shortly came out after with a bag in his hand.

"What did you buy?"

"Just a surprise," he said and pulled out the pink beret from the bag. I gasped and stared widely.

"I saw how you were looking at it earlier so I decided to get you it," he said and placed it on my head.

"Thank you so much, Eddie. I love it. I love you."

I blushed as I realized what I said and he was blushing too. "I love you too, Y/N."

I smiled widely and kissed him on the cheek and we went walked away. As we were walking, we spotted Beverly.

"Y/N, Eddie? Is that you?"

We walked over to her as we said 'yes'.

"Where were you guys? We've been trying to call you!"

"We've?"

"We're all meeting up. We couldn't reach you guys."

"Sorry, we-we were on a date," I said with a smile.

"Ahhhhh, no wonder you guys look fancier than normal."

I saw Eddie roll his eyes as we started following Beverly. We eventually got to the place and saw everyone. Then we started talking.
