Y/N's POV
It's been a few weeks since the funeral and confession. I didn't really talk to anyone for the bit of time, even Eddie. I didn't tell him that I didn't wanna talk, we were just busy.I ended up just wasting my time by reading and going to the library. I got a ton of books that I thought Betty would've read. I even chose a couple that I thought Ben would've liked. He seems like such a bookworm, more of a researcher though.
I went through the shelves, grabbing history books and old newspapers. I ended up sitting down at a table closest to the newspapers and started reading through. I know there was a ton of information that Ben found and compiled but there could be more. I read through what felt like hundreds of articles and pages trying to find something new but there wasn't much. I just couldn't stop reading through it all, I was like a machine. Then I stopped reading when I heard the classic noise of a circus, I looked up and all I saw were balloons. Just balloons. Then I saw the clown. It was like a kid in a ball pit. I ran away from It but felt like I was just stuck. I was finally able to make it out and realized that the feeling of being stuck was just the sound and balloons being repetitive. I sighed and ran home, I didn't even bring my bike but felt like I really needed it. The only thing that was new was the balloons crowding a room.
I made it into my house and took deep breaths, it couldn't be real. Yet, it all was. All of it was real. We knew that, we all knew that.
All I could think of was calling Beverly. I ran to the phone and called her. All it did was ring and ring, sending me to voicemail. I kept trying to call her and it happened every single time. I sighed, frustrated and worried. The phone rang right after I put it away. I grabbed it, hoping it would be Beverly. Instead, Bill was the one to call.
"Y/N? Beverly's missing. It got Beverly."
"Shit. I'll be at the Neibolt house in five," I said hanging up and running to my bike and riding to the house. I ended up running into Eddie while biking over.
"Eddie," I said looking at him, "didn't expect to run into you."
"Well I guess it's just a coincidence. That doesn't seem to matter right now though. Dealing with that stupid clown is."
"Are you scared," I asked as we pulled up to the Neibolt house.
"Yeah, but who isn't," he said.
"That's fair. At least the doctors are in," I said with a wide smile.
