Y/N's POV
"Come on. We have to go help!"

"We do?"

"Yes! Of course we do!"

We ended up dropping our bikes and ran down towards the yelling. We then saw how Bowers was over the homeschool kid, now knowing his name was Mike Hanlon.

"Hey assholes!"

Henry decided to make stupid and asshole comments. He ended up getting cut off by getting hit by a rock. Ben let out a yell as he threw a rock at Bowers. Beverly then threw one after.

"Rock war," Richie screamed before getting hit in the head with a rock. Rocks were flying all over the place.

Finally, the three ran away. "Go blow your dad you mullet wearing asshole," Richie screamed as he flipped off Bowers.

We ended up welcoming Mike to our group after he thought Bowers would go after us after we helped him. We also made our way downtown, a celebration being held. I haven't focused on anything other than finding Betty, eating, sleeping, and the last day of school. The group went towards an alleyway, as to be out of the way. Some of us dropped our bikes, some of us ran off after.

"Richie," I screamed as he ran off, "get back here!"

He ended up making his way towards the marching band and I saw him trying to take a trumpet from one of them. I rolled my eyes and went up to the two of them.

"Richie, let go," I said trying to help the trumpet player, "what you're doing is disgraceful."

I was able to push him away from the trumpet and gave it back to the player, "I'm so sorry. I hope the rest of your day goes better."

I ended up pulling Richie away from the band and to our group, "hey guys, sorry we were away. Richie was being a dumbass again."

They nodded in response and then Eddie came around with ice cream in his hands. "What are you guys talking about?"

"What they always talk about," Richie said, taking an ice cream cone from Eddie. Eddie ended up giving me one too.

"I actually think it will end," Ben said and I looked at him in confusion, "for a little while at least."

"What do you mean," Beverly asked.

"So I was going over all my Derry research. And I charted all of the big events. It seems all of this stuff happens every-," as Ben was talking, I was running the numbers in my mind and cut off Ben a little.

"Every 27 years," Ben, Bill, and I said in unison. I ended up dropping my ice cream cone as I said that, slightly freaking out.

"Talk about creepy," I heard Richie whisper to Eddie.

"We should probably go somewhere more noisy to continue this conversation," Beverly suggested.

"F-F-Fountain..."

We nodded and made our way over. We sat down and Eddie spoke up first, "okay. So let me get this straight. It comes out from... wherever to eat kids for like a year. And then what? It just goes into hibernation?"

Stan spoke up next, "maybe it's just like... what do you call it? Cicadas. You know, those bugs that come out every seventeen years."

"My grandfather thinks this town is cursed," Mike said, "he says that all the bad things that happen in this town are because of one thing. An evil thing that feeds off the people in Derry."

"But it can't be one thing. We all saw something different," Stan exclaimed.

"Maybe. Or maybe it knows what scares us most and that's what we see."

"I saw a leper. It was like a walking infection."

"But you didn't! Because it isn't real. Not Eddie's leper or Bill seeing Georgie, or the woman I keep seeing."

"She's hot," Richie asked and I smacked his arm as Stan screamed 'no'.

"Her face is all messed up. None of this makes any sense! They're all like bad dreams!"

"Mine definitely was," I said quietly, which I'm assuming Mike didn't hear cause of what he said.

"I-I don't think so," Mike said, "I think I know the difference between a bad dream and real life, okay."

"What did you see?"

"You guys know that burned down house on Harris Avenue? I was inside it when it burned down. Before I was rescued, my parents were trapped in the next room. They were pushing and pounding on the door, trying to get to me. But it was too hot and when they finally found them, the skin on their hands had melted down to the bone."

"That's more insane than what Beverly and I saw. What she saw was more insane than what I saw too. All I had was a dream with my best friend, Betty Ripsom, but she turned into spiders," I told Mike, not telling him everything.

We had a moment of awkward silence and then Richie started talking, "I don't know, there's gotta be a reason, right?"

"What are you afraid of?"

"Clowns."
