A prophecy

My name is Nixie. Normally, it would be Leo who would be telling you a story. For today, it's time that I told you a story. That evening, I knew that there was something special about Leo. He saved me twice. As great as that sounds, he wasn't the only hero that I know. In fact, this is a story that I heard from the place where I live with my parents. It turns out that there is hero that was destined to save the people from where I live. This hero is called the Dark Chosen. I haven't seen the Dark Chosen yet. Stories about the hero state that whoever it is must have done a few small bad decisions and has dark ideas. Eventually, the hero is bound to get over these dark ideas and decisions. When he makes the prophecy of saving the people come true, he will have some gold embroidered onto parts of his or her body. This Dark Chosen has to be a mermaid or merman with tentacles coming out from his back. If you are desperate to know where I live. I cannot tell you that. I'm afraid that my parents' enemies will find me.

Anyway, back to the story. After I hugged Leo a few times, I could feel some kind of energy from inside him. An energy that appeared to be dark. Also, this energy could be tamed and turned into something that is good. I felt excited when I went to my room after saying goodnight to Leo. I thought about the times that he saved me. I knew my guardians and his parents don't want him to do some heroic stuff. But somehow, I have a feeling that he is going to be doing some more heroic deeds in the future. I felt excited in my mind. Because I think that Leo might be the Dark Chosen! Though I don't think that my guardians were going to believe me. I need to get some proof. With these thoughts in my mind, I closed my door and adjusted the bedside curtains so that only one of them is opened. After I turned off the lights, I tucked myself into bed and had the last bedside curtain cover my bed. Even though it was stormy, I managed to get to sleep. That's when I dreamt about Leo. I imagined what he might look like as the Dark Chosen. I can't wait to show my parents. I needed to show my guardians first, though I have the feeling that they weren't going to be convinced that Leo is going to be the Dark Chosen. Even if he wasn't. I am glad that I got to know him, and he saved me from being kidnapped and attacked. Then I wondered when the Dark Chosen would come. My dreams shortly turned into nightmares. I dreamt as the voices of my parents' enemies were celebrating their victory. How they were going to spread themselves everywhere. I was trying not to think about that. I tried to think about the kinds of things I could do on the island. That's when I had an idea. The stormy weather stopped sometime in the evening. I couldn't tell when though. The next day, I got up from where I was sleeping. Then I walked over to the window panel controls. There was some sun pouring through the open window. Mrs. Oceania managed to get some breakfast ready. I think hearing the sound of the cooking might have woken Leo up. He sat up from where he was sleeping. "Good morning Leo." I said to him. "Morning Nixie." Leo spoke back. I wondered if he had a good sleep. Leo confirmed that he did. I felt happy for him.

After eating breakfast, Leo cleaned himself up first. Then he put on a fresh pair of clothes. I immediately went after him. After I cleaned up, and put on a fresh set of clothes, I joined him to the front door. I told him that we should have another supper together. He had a smile on his face. "But please. No heroics." Mr. Barnacle advised. "Alright Mr. Barnacle." I opined. His father was waiting for him. I watched with Mr. Barnacle as Leo went to get his bicycle from the bicycle shed. I watched as my new friend walked down the walkway towards the bicycle road. He followed his father back to his house. The next week, I had the same routine as before I go to school. My lunch was prepared by my guardians. I was sure that my backpack had all of the school supplies that I need for the school day. I followed Mrs. Oceania to school everyday. Mr. Barnacle managed to find work somewhere in town. I always smile at Leo when I see him. Though his brothers seem to be looking at somewhere else. I smiled at them too. The brothers didn't seem to be interested in talking. It was nice to talk to Leo everyday before school starts. One day I was introduced to his brothers, Leander, and Linus. They seemed to be shy ones. I don't mind that. Soon, I won't be a stranger to them anymore. On Wednesday, Leo told me about a competition that was happening on Saturday. Apparently, It was going to be a wind surfing competition. From what I have heard, two people ride on a board with a sail. The wind pushes the sail in any direction the surfers want it too. I thought that it sounded fun. I asked my guardians at home about what they think.
