The week with the trip to the palm tree farm got me feeling tired. At least I can do whatever I like during the weekend, like swimming, or riding my bicycle. My siblings would probably play with each other. I heard that Linus and Leander would be bicycling together into town with Mom. I don't know why though. Maybe she was going to shop for something in the stores in town. It all happened like this. I was the first to get my bicycle out from the bicycle shed. While the others were waiting for Mom. "Just remember to come home before lunch." Linus advised. "Don't worry Linus. I'll be there." I replied. I pedaled my bicycle into town. I also checked the calendar. During November the 25th, that's when Autism Day happens. I will tell you what happens when that day comes.
I pedaled faster than my siblings. Then I went to the other side of Shell Shore. I stopped once I reached the driveway of the place that Mrs. Darkblood used to live at. I knew that it was my chance to test out my merman form again. Though I wasn't sure where in the Kanada Islands I should explore. I hid my bicycle in the tall grass nearby. Though there have been a few tall blades of grass that have been growing in the driveway. I set my bicycling helmet on my bicycle handlebars. I walked up to the edge of the island. That's when I decided to jump off. I splashed in the water. Surprisingly, the water was deep here. Then I swam towards the surface and leaped. My fishtail pushed me as I swam my way towards the surface. After I landed back in the water again, I wished that my tentacles would appear. These tentacles managed to emerge. They felt the water around me. It felt like that I had eight more arms to help me. The water felt good as I swam in it. My clothes had disappeared as I splashed into the water. I looked at the sea around me. Then I decided to swim outwards. "Looking for adventure? You can always look for the Haunted Island. There's plenty of treasure and mysteries to solve there." Mrs. Darkblood's voice rang through my head. That made me interested. "I just need directions." I informed the voice in my mind. "Very well." Then the voice of my former EA teacher gave me the direction to the Haunted Island. I don't know much about the other islands besides the island that I live on. "What do you know about the island?" I queried in my mind. "I know that there are a lot of haunted areas on that island. My magic gets stronger the closer we get to the island. I will be thrilled to see how your merman form would react to the dark powers and ghosts that haunt the different places nearby." I swam away. I saw a few fish while I moved in the ocean. Suddenly, I saw something that got me interested. This thing happened to be something tall. Though the sunlight from above wasn't showing off the ruins that the tower was situated in. "Now this is more like it." I opined. Suddenly, I could feel something dark, deep inside. Whatever the thought was, wanted me to check out that tower. I couldn't say no to that. As I swam closer, the area around the tower became clear. There were a few ruins up a hill from where the tower was. In fact, there were plenty of broken buildings strewn about nearby.
The city had some bricks that were covered in sand. There was one shark that was swimming nearby. Though this great white shark didn't seem to be interested in me. I swam closer to the tower. It turns out that the tower was in the center of these ruined buildings. Though it was clear that the ruins were once a city. "The Katadikasménos citadel. Don't stay here. For anybody who stays here are as doomed as the people who once lived here." A voice rang through the air. Then I could hear something else talking in the air. This voice had to be speaking Greek. I couldn't figure out what this voice might be trying to tell me. Then the entire surrounding started to change. I closed my eyes. In two seconds, I found myself on dry land again. I was standing on a street. Though I quickly stepped aside once I heard the sound of a horse coming towards me. There was also somebody who was yelling at me. I ducked out of the way. I landed on my back as the horse drawn chariot sped by. Then I looked at the clothes that I was wearing. It wasn't the normal clothes that I was wearing today. Instead, I was wearing a cloak. This cloak was white in color. I got myself to stand up. Though I was confused as to why I could be wearing a cloak. Then I noticed something else. The people that were around me were also wearing cloaks and tunics. The people felt determined as they went about their daily routine. I wasn't sure where I should go first. Then I went in the direction the horse drawn chariot was racing to. A few more people were going to and fro, buying things from the market. There was also a temple set up on the hill. Getting through the city felt like a maze. "You are already cursed. Don't worry, the curse of the citadel won't affect you. Though you should watch your back. The curse will make sure that you will leave this big city." A deep man's voice spoke in my mind. I felt a little confused at once. Were my tentacles and fishtail a curse? I guess so since the dark witch must have done this to me. I could heed the sound of my former EA teacher cackling in my mind. After walking through the maze of a citadel, I found myself standing in front of the temple that I saw on the hill. "The people who live here long ago spoke Greek. Don't worry, it will be translated so that you can understand how this curse began." The same deep voice informed me. Then I saw a group of four people that were leaving the temple. "Thank you Poseidon. He who reigns supreme over the seas. He has blessed us all with a fine catch today." One of the people from the group mentioned. I walked over to the temple. Then I hid behind one of the temple pillars. It turns out that there were some people bowing before a great statue. After worshipping for a short while longer, everybody stood up and left the temple. The people hoped that they were appeasing the statue enough. Though I think that this statue is a representation of the Greek god Poseidon. I have heard about these stories from Greek mythology from my parents when they used to tell stories to get my siblings and myself to fall asleep. Though there was a shout that could be heard from outside. "Ladies and gentlemen! I ask you! Listen to me! For I have an important question!" I slipped away from the temple. I saw that there was a young man making a disturbance in the area of the city that was close by. "If Poseidon was supposed to be looking over us? How come he threatens us with a flood to wipe us out?! Or maybe an earthquake that can make our beautiful citadel sink into the sea?!" The young man began. Some people were ignoring him. "You are all so dumb! Obeying gods that are trying to be our protectors! But they are just like evil parents! They threaten us to keep us in line and make sure that we are living according to the laws!" The young man continued. "You might be a sacrifice to the gods if you keep that up boy!" An elderly man scolded him. "How dare you insult the gods! They are powerful and awesome beings!" A lady yelled at him. "Get out of the city! If you want to criticize the gods, do it on land! Poseidon might doom this city to a tidal wave!" A man warned while passing by. "This city won't flood! The gods don't need to have any attention! What we need is to stand up for ourselves! We will stand against the tyranny of the gods! They are the true enemy! More deadly than the underworld itself!" The young man continued. All of a sudden, there was the sound of thunder that came from above. "Who's with me?!" The young man rallied. The citizens started to quickly move towards their abodes. "Now you will feel the wrath of the great Poseidon!" Another passerby shrieked. The people scampered as they ran towards a nearby building. Some of them were running towards the nearby temple. "This city is not afraid of you Poseidon. I can become a god if the king of the gods would allow me! I can rule over the mortals with a fair hand. Rather then with the threat of floods, earthquakes, and storms starting from out of nowhere." The young man professed. To make him even more frustrated, this time, nobody was around to listen to him. "This whole city isn't afraid of you Poseidon! This city won't be dedicated to you anymore! It will be dedicated to the cause of freeing the humans from the threat of the gods!" The young man shouted at the sky. "I would hide in the temple if I were you." The deep voice informed me. The voice was changing as it said those words. It turns out that the deep voice changed into a voice that I was hearing recently. "Are you the..." I began to speak in my mind. "The young man from back then? I am." The same voice replied. I ran towards the entrance of the temple of Poseidon. Then there was the sound of the city trembling. Almost as if the very citadel was going to break apart and sink into the sea. The clouds in the sky became nearly black. There were two flashes of lightning that could be seen. The people inside the temple were bowing at the statue of Poseidon. I merely stood back close to the temple's entrance. "Do you dare strike down somebody who would serve you?! That's what I thought you mean gods!" Then there was the sound of a wave rising nearby. People were speaking in Greek to the statue of Poseidon, begging him to spare them. The water rushed in. I started to run towards the statue of Poseidon. The water from inside the city recklessly flowed towards the inside of the temple. Then the water covered everyone inside the temple. I passed out. When I woke up, I found myself in the temple of Poseidon. I thought that it couldn't be possible. Then I stood up. The people that were inside the temple at the time the water began to flood the area were still here. They felt happy and confused as to why they were spared along with their temple. I walked outside. Then I noticed where the temple was situated at. It turns out that the temple had been moved towards the beach. The waves splashed on the sand. I looked back. The people inside the temple walked out to see where the temple might have been taken to. Everybody could see the ocean surrounding the island. A few seconds later, they went back inside the temple. Then the surrounding changed around me. I found myself back underwater. I had my tentacles and fishtail again. The fishtail moved as I hovered over the sunken city. I looked over at the hill that I thought the temple was supposed to be situated at. Though it turns out that there was nothing built where the temple was supposed to be. Then there was the sound of some wailing coming from the city. "This is a city of the doomed! Leave now! I have brought the wrath of Poseidon upon everyone here! It's my fault!" The voice of the young man echoed. I started to notice some things that were changing about the city. There was some people leaving the houses. I think those things were people. Then I could here the sound of people crying out in agony. The people from the houses started to swim towards me. Though they weren't people as they got closer. Their skin was green. There was the sound of electricity as they came close. They had pointy, long fingers. They nearly reminded me of these long green beans. Then I remembered about lunch back home. As the people got closer. I could see the long necks and the eel like faces and heads that took the place of a regular human head. Their eyes were pitch black. They didn't have any legs or fishtails to help them swim. Though they had long eel tails instead. There was a white light glow that appeared on the long green tails for just a few seconds. There was some electricity that was flowing nearby while the long tails glowed. The creatures were about to reach me. "Run! Do not come to Katadikasménos Citadel again! This city is doomed to rot and be destroyed by the gods!" The voice of the young man insisted. Then I could feel an electrical shock. That made my body twitch. There was a hand from one of those eel monsters that touched my fishtail. Once the fingernail touched the fishtail, I could feel the feel another electric shock. "The electricity is going to get worse if you don't leave now!" The young man's voice adduced in my mind. The eel creatures were coming closer. I swam away. I used one of my tentacles to slap the eel creature that was giving me these electric shocks. I was a pretty good swimmer. Then I got my head out from the water. I was gasping for air. I was out in the middle of the ocean. I dipped my head under the water. I couldn't see any of those eel monsters following me. Then I swam for home. I stealthily made it back to my bicycle without being seen. The people on the island must be going home to eat lunch or something. "You're going back later? I have a feeling you might be." Mrs. Darkblood's voice echoed in my mind. I rode my bicycle back home. I was expecting my siblings to be waiting for me. The bicycle ride gave me the time to forget the spooky stuff that was happening at that sunken citadel. Then I wondered if my family knew anything about it. I put my bicycle away in the bicycle shed. "Leo! It's time for lunch!" My little brother called out to me. "Alright. I'm coming." I replied with a normal tone of voice. My brothers were gathered at the table. We were going to be having some chicken sandwiches. "How was your bicycle ride Leo? Did you see anybody during your ride?" Mom questioned. "Nobody familiar Mom. I enjoyed myself. I wish there was another special contest that the island was having." I responded. "Well there's always the Autism Day Swim Day. Just remember that. Is Nixie coming too?" Mom reminded me. I nodded my head. "Leander and I will be good when we will be swimming." Linus told Mom. I somehow didn't believe that. I was thinking that Leander would be making things worse for himself. I can't wait to grow up and be away from him. Don't get me wrong, sure I don't think he is going to be bothering me anymore after I attacked him with my tentacles. Though I am not sure that Linus is going to be the same way. "Mom. Do you know anything about the legends surrounding the Kanada Islands?" I began. Leander and Linus looked back at me. "Legends? What do you mean?" Mom interrogated. "Like have you seen or heard about stories about monsters or crazy things that happened near the same place that we are living in?" I described. "No Leo. I don't think we know anything about them." Linus answered. Mom rolled her eyes. "Leo. I do know that there are some stories about some interesting places around the Kanada Islands. One of them is the sunken citadel of Katadikasménos." Mom answered. "Mom, I don't know if you told us this story." Linus commented. "Since your brother wants to know about the legends about the Kanada Islands. That was one of the few tales surrounding this country. This city was built on an island. This city was built by the Greeks. They had a temple dedicated to the god Poseidon. Since he was a deity who controls the seas, the citizens thought that by having a temple dedicated to him in this city, then the citadel will be protected by the many perils that the sea has." Mom continued. "What happened?" I queried. "The city was sunk underneath the waves. To this day, nobody has ever found it." Mom concluded. "Would somebody find the city and just tell everybody else? Then the city will be found." Linus pumped. "Not so fast Linus. This sunken citadel also has a curse." Mom replied. "A curse? Are you serious?" I grilled, acting like I have never heard of it before. "What kind of a curse?" Linus blurted out of concern. "Those who go to the citadel, are given the choice to flee and never return, or become what the victims of the curse have become." Mom said with a creepy tone in her voice. "Become what?" Linus opined. "To become eel creatures. Though if you have told anybody about the eel creatures, then you will be turned into one." Mom rendered. "Why did the citadel sink Mom?" I questioned. "Nobody knows for sure Leo. Though the temple meant for Poseidon was moved to another island. This same temple still stands to this day. The survivors will tell anybody that the wrath of Poseidon was enacted upon the city. Simply because one of the citizens decided to disrespect the gods." Mom contended. Linus and Leander listened to those words. "If somebody asked Poseidon to remove the curse from the city, what would Poseidon do?" I interrogated. "Now hold on Leo. The Greek gods were proven to be myths and legends. Though nobody has seen these Greek gods before. Nobody knows how they could call upon the gods anymore. Simply because the same deities might have been made up or they might be absent." Mom assured. "But it's a great story Mom. Thank you for telling us about it." Linus rendered. "You're welcome sweetie." Mom responded. "So, are you going to be riding your bicycle again?" I looked back at Mom, then at my siblings. "Yes Mom. I feel pretty free out there." I expressed. "Free? What do you mean?" Linus asked. "Free from anybody giving me any chores. Free from anybody who thinks that they should be the center of the world. And free from anybody who pushes me around like Leander." I opined. Leander looked up from his plate. "LEO!" Mom scolded. "What's your problem?" Linus queried. "That's the thing. I am sick and tired of being pushed around by silly siblings. Leander is no different then a bully. He beats me up when he feels like it." Leander was feeling a little upset on the inside. "And me? Why don't you want to be hanging out with me? What did I do you?" Linus protested. "Stop it Linus. Don't say anything more." Mom instructed. "You kicked me out from my room and hanged out in there. That's not your space. That's my room." I conveyed. "STOP!" Mom yelled as she stood up. Everybody at the dinner table turned to look at her. "Please stop." Mom adduced as she felt sad. "I can't handle this anymore. I really can't." She voiced. I tried to focus on eating my sandwich. "Can I just have a normal family? Just a normal one? Where everything is alright, and we could all help each other out if there was a problem? But no. I got a son who complains all the time. A son who can be annoying as a mosquito. And a son who beats up other people. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THE THREE OF YOU?!" Mom complained. I said nothing in return. Mom wept throughout the rest of the lunch. "You know what. The three of you can bicycle. I need time to myself right now." Mom informed us. After I put my dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I was getting myself ready to go on another bicycle ride. "Can we go with you Leo? Please?" Linus queried. "Please. Just leave me alone. Leander is a teen, why don't you ask him?" I contended. I didn't want to think about my family right now. I pedaled my bicycle towards Shell Shore. Linus looked at his big brother. He had a normal expression on his face. "Leander? Can I ride behind you?" Linus questioned him. Leander nodded back. He took the time to get his bicycle and Linus' bicycle out from the bicycle shed. Then the siblings took their bicycles out onto the bicycle road. "Should we go into town, or do you know another path we could take?" Linus pumped. Leander had his bicycle pointed in the direction away from town. I was bicycling towards Mrs. Darkblood's old property. I passed two cyclists as I pedaled away. The people in Shell Shore were relaxing and going about their work. I slowed myself down as I got closer to Mrs. Darkblood's old home. I made sure that nobody was following me. Mrs. Darkblood's mailbox was the only thing that was left of the house. Then I got off my bike and took it down the driveway towards the area where Mrs. Darkblood's house used to be. There were two small white crabs that were blocking my path. They were snapping their claws at me. I thought that these crabs were being rude. Then I called for my tentacles in my mind. The tentacles were wiggling a little. Two of these tentacles whipped the ground in front of them. The small white crabs were flung away. I move my bicycle near the cliff where the EA teacher's house used to be. The white crabs were still there. They were getting themselves to stand up. Once they got themselves to stand up, they held their pincers up in the air. I felt annoyed by looking at these small crabs. My tentacles managed to fling these small white crabs away. The crustaceans landed into the ocean with a splash. Then I called for my tentacles to disappear. They retreated into my back. I hid my bicycle nearby. I looked around again. There wasn't anybody around. The snakes and small crabs might be hiding in the trees for all I care. But I don't have the time to worry about these small animals. I jumped off from the edge of the cliff. I made a splash into the water. I called for my tentacles to reappear in my mind. The tentacles had wiggled once. Then I looked down at my feet. They were exchanged for a fishtail. The fishtail moved back and forth. Then I swam towards in the direction of the sunken citadel. "This is it huh? A boy like you going to a cursed city. You should be just like the eel people. They are protectors of that city." Mrs. Darkblood's voice echoed in my mind. "I thought that you were dead. I think that there is a way to lift the curse off that citadel." I told the voice in my mind. "In that case, I wish that I would have given the potion to put you into an eternal sleep when I brought you to my lair." I didn't let the voice of the sea witch bother me one bit. I managed to swim out to sea. The only animals that I could spot in the ocean so far are a bunch of fish that swim close to the ocean floor. There were a few starfish on the wet sand. Then I noticed something charging at me. It was a great white shark! It had its jaws open. The predator was about to take one bite out of me. Then I ducked and wrapped my tentacles around the shark. It tried to snap one of my tentacles off. Though it seemed to be having trouble trying to eat a piece of me. I used my energy to squeeze the great white shark with my tentacles. The predator tried to shake me off while swimming. The suction cups from my tentacles did their job to hang onto the body of the shark. The predator tried to shove me off. "Leave me alone!" I shouted. I increased the energy that was used in the tentacles. They were slowly crushing the shark. The predator suddenly didn't have the strength to swim anymore. It was almost ready to sink to the bottom of the sea. As angry as I was, I didn't want to the shark to die. I loosened my grip on the predator. The tentacles got themselves detached from the great white shark. The predator weakly moved its fins. The shark made a semi circle around me. Then the predator swam away. I continued on my way. My fishtail was making short work of that water. I think I managed to see a humpback whale as it swam along. I stopped to watch it as it swam by. I swam past the Haunted Island. Then I reached one spot in the ocean where I can watch the citadel from a long distance. I couldn't see any creatures swimming in the water surrounding the citadel. Then I noticed some movement. There was an eel creature swimming out from the ruins. Then I saw what the eel monster was chasing after. It turns out that it was another humpback whale. This whale was swimming a bit too close to the sunken city. The eel creatures started to shock the whale in self defense. The whale made some cries for help. The whale swam till its tail could get close enough to the eel creature. The eel creature made one more zap. The whale pushed its tail towards the eel creature. The eel creature got itself hit by the tail. The eel monster retaliated by shocking the whale's tail. The whale made another cry for help. The big animal swam away from the giant citadel. "What's the point of visiting this place? You can't undo the curse here. The eel people deserve the ruins. They don't have a home for themselves you know." Mrs. Darkblood's voice rang in my mind. I don't know if those eel creatures were people that once lived in the citadel or if they were monsters. The citadel seemed to be quiet for a few moments. Then I started to swim towards the surface. "What are you trying to do? Attacking these nice creatures from above? Now I know what the Dark Chosen is supposed to do. Attack anybody who opposes him. Yes, you will be the greatest ruler of the seas. With everybody back home worshipping you as if you were Poseidon himself. Then you can end up like all of the other foolish mortals who claim that they are as strong as a god." Mrs. Darkblood spoke while taunting me. My head touched the surface. I got my tentacles to retract into my back. I started to look around. There was one island that was nearby. But it seemed as if you need a boat to reach it from this distance. I submerged myself back under. I swam as fast as my tail would allow me. I was feeling a bit tired from swimming a long distance. But I managed to reach the island. Though there was a sign on a buoy saying that this was the Slip Key and that going on this key would mean trespassing on government property. I was careful to look out for anybody else who was on the island. I transformed from being a merman back into a boy again. Then I looked at a big structure on the island. It looks like whatever this building was might have had some vegetation covering it. But it can see that this structure had some pillars that held it up. This key had some pools on the beach caused by the high tide. It turns out that there were some small animals that were swimming in these pools. These animals were leeches. The thought about these creatures would make anybody want to avoid them. There were about five to seven leaches for every small pool of water that was on the beach. There must have been twelve of these small pools on the beach. Then I turned my attention to the big building. I walked up to the building and saw that there were some slugs that were climbing up some of the pillars. There were some snails that were moving slowly through the vegetation and the water that was building up on the floor. The building on the inside was pitch black. I pushed the vegetation and the small animals aside with my feet. Then I noticed a burned out torch. There was no way that I could light it up again. My parents would freak out if they caught me playing with fire. "It's too bad that you can't see in the dark. I would love to make people blind and hear them scream about how they can't get anything done." Mrs. Darkblood's voice echoed in my mind. I could hear the sound of the sea witch cackling away. "Uh. Poseidon. I know about the citadel of Katadikasménos. If you know a way to break the curse. Then you can destroy the citadel, and nobody will truly ever knew that it existed." I casually spoke into the darkness. For ten seconds, I didn't get an answer. Then I saw something happening in front of me. There were two flames that instantly appeared. The whole room was lit by the large flames in giant torches. I didn't know how to respond to that. "NOOO!!!!!!" The sea witch screamed in my mind. The sea slugs and the sea snail that were slowly moving, turned their attention to the flames. I could see that there was a statue of a bearded man holding a trident. I walked inside the temple. The puddles of water, small animals, and vegetation on the floor pushed themselves towards the building's walls. I carefully walked towards the big statue. "Oh Poseidon. I know that there are some people that are disrespectful in this world. If you are still angry at the young man who caused you so much grief, then can I bring him to you?" I queried. I didn't receive an answer. The temple was still. With the living creatures in the temple had their attention focused on the giant statue of Poseidon. Knowing that I wasn't somebody who thought that the Greek gods were real, I thought that the parting of the water, animals, and seaweed didn't feel normal. I got as close as I could to the statue in the temple. I knelt and bowed down at the statue. "Oh Poseidon, I am willing to complete a big task. Is there a way for you to lift the curse upon the ruins of the citadel? Taking the citadel away will mean that there won't be any explorers bothering to look for it." I opined. Just like before, I didn't get an answer. Five seconds after, there was the sound of water coming from close by. I stood up and looked at the temple entrance. Then I could see something that was coming in thanks to the waves. The ocean waves managed to push in an urn. This piece of pottery got itself to wash up only a foot away from where I was standing. This urn had some pictures of waves on it. The waves on the urn glowed blue for six seconds. This urn also had a lid on it. After looking at the artwork of the urn, I looked at the floor. That's because there was a message that was glowing in white light. "Take this urn to the city. It will collect the remains of the young man that wronged me all those years ago. If you will bring me the ashes of this man. I will destroy these ashes. Since this young man was the one who had wronged me in the past. The curse will be lifted, and justice will be served." The message stated. Before I was about to exit the temple, I could hear the sound of a boat motor. Then I could hear the sound of some people getting off. I was trapped. I wanted my tentacles to arrive in my mind. My eight tentacles immediately came. Then I wrapped two of those tentacles around the urn. Then I could here one of the people on the beach mentioning something to the other. "Look! Somebody's here!" "Then we have to find them!" I looked where I was standing for a good hiding place. The vegetation, water, and small animals were being pushed to the center of the temple. Then I looked at the statue of Poseidon. Then the two people from the shore came. They were both wearing shorts. They would remind anybody of jungle explorers. The bowls that were supposed to hold the flames for the Poseidon statue were put out. The scientists used their flashlights to walk towards the Poseidon statue. "I don't know if the person ever came to the temple at all. Whoever it was could be hiding and are waiting for us to leave." One scientist said to another. "And do what after we leave? Destroy this key? Face it, this is the last resort for every sea slug and snail that the world will ever know." The second scientist stated. I had my eyes closed. I was worried that these scientists are going to discover me at any second. They were sweeping the light from their flashlights on the back wall. I did my best to keep my mouth from ever saying a word. The scientists thought that they should check the back of the statue. "Do you think the intruder is behind the statue?" One scientist asked another. "I don't know. But I don't know if any intruder would want to climb this statue. It has collected slime from all of those sea slugs and snails that have called this temple home. Yoo Hoo!" The first scientist called out. I was starting to feel afraid in my mind. Then I could hear the sound of water splashing in the temple even louder. Then the scientists turned their attention to the temple entrance. There was two feet of water that was coming in. "I don't think it is safe!" A voice shouted from the outside. "We have to catch the intruder. Whoever it was is violating the law. We can't stop this individual from destroying the population of sea slugs and snails that have became a part of this island's ecosystem." One scientist protested. "If this water keep coming in, then we are going to drown. The same thing will happen to the intruder!" The second scientist reminded her. "Intruder! Come out! You're going to drown in here!" The first scientist yelled. The water was starting to become as high as three feet. I looked down at the water below. "We are going to drown! Come on! We can check again later. If the intruder has left, then we could focus on protecting what this island has left." The scientists started to move through the water. After the water became four feet high. They started to swim towards the entrance. I used my tentacles to stay glued on the back of the Poseidon statue. The scientists soon left the temple. Afterwards, I could hear the sound of a boat. The boat motor sounded like it was getting further away. A minute after the boat was gone, the water started to recede. I waited until the water was low enough that it was the width of a sheet paper. A snail was just about to touch my lower right tentacle. Then I descended from my hiding spot. I carefully shuffled my feet across the wet floor. My two lowest tentacles still held onto the urn. The snails and sea slugs were crawling on the wet ground. I managed to get to the temple entranceway. I could spot a boat as it was going out to sea. I waited until that boat was a spec in the distance. Then I moved towards the edge where the water meets the sea. After seeing three leeches swimming close to the edge of the island. I used my tentacles to reach further out into the water. I allowed my tentacles to get myself as far as possible to a deeper area. Then I had myself turn into a merman. I dove under the water. I swam under the sea knowing that I can put an end to the curse. The urn had some water collected inside. I was holding onto the lid using my left hand. I swam back towards the sunken citadel. I wondered what I could do to get past those eel creatures. The citadel looked quiet for a while. Though if I do get closer, I might get the attention of those monsters. I tried to think of a solid plan. "I have heard that you are going to break the curse that surrounds this citadel. And only my remains are the thing that Poseidon needs." The voice of a familiar young man said in my mind. "That's right. Do you know anyway how I can distract those eel creatures. They don't want anything near the sunken city." I adduced in my mind. "You could only hope that there will be some nearby fish that could provide you with a distraction." The young man voiced a solution in my mind. Seven seconds later, I saw a group of great white sharks. There were about nine in all. They still swam as a group as they got into the sunken city. I think that those sharks were swimming in a street area. That's when I decided to swim towards the sunken citadel. Then I hid behind one of the ruined buildings. "Do you know where your body is?" I queried the young man's voice in my mind. "It's been a long time. I can't remember." The voice answered. Then I swam past a few sunken ruins. "Just tell me when I get close to your body." I opined to the voice in my head. I looked for those eel creatures as I swam. Then again, I think that they are busy with the sharks that have gotten into the sunken city. I swam next close to the ocean floor. "I don't think that my body is going to be found on the street. The eel creatures might have placed any body that could be found or buried on the street area in one of the nearby buildings. Any skeleton or ruin is going to attract unwanted attention." The voice of the young man told me in my mind. "Which building do you think your body is located in?" I pumped next in my mind. I didn't get an answer. I carefully crossed a street where the nine great white sharks were busy attacking the eel creatures. These eel creatures were wanting to be rid of these predators at once. Then I reached one of the abandoned houses that had its walls still standing in one piece. But the ceiling was completely taken down. Probably from the tsunami wave that made this citadel sink into the ground. "Here! I feel something!" The voice from the young man informed me. I cautiously swam into the ruins of the destroyed house. Then I could see some sand rushing away. Then I noticed what was buried underneath. It was a skull. Then I noticed the rest of the skeleton. "That's my body." The young man's voice spoke into my mind. I held the open urn towards the skeleton resting in the sand. That's when I saw something happening. The skeleton was starting to turn itself into dust. I couldn't distinguish this dust from sand. The dust was collecting itself into the urn. Then I could feel the urn's lid pulling itself away from my left hand. The lid floated itself next to the entrance of the urn. Once the skeleton dust was collected, the urn lid had fastened itself on tightly. "Trespasser!" A voice exclaimed from above me. There were seven eel creatures that were floating above me. They were about to grab one of my tentacles. I prepared myself by using two of my tentacles to hold the urn against my chest. Then I swam away. Though I did get shocked twice. "Are you the former citizens of the citadel?" I questioned. The eel creatures didn't respond at first. I got shocked again. One of the eel creatures had grabbed onto the fin of my fishtail. That's when two of my tentacles whipped at the creature that held on. The eel monster let go. I was getting further away from the city. Then I heard one of the eel creatures yelling "NNOOOOOOO!!!". I moved my body so that when I was swimming, I could see what was going on behind me. I could hear the sounds of the few walls and building parts falling apart. The eel creatures regrouped. They couldn't understand what was happening. They were asking among themselves about the situation. Then they looked back at me. "How dare you trespass on our home! This sunken city was the only home we have! We were once humans and lived in the citadel when it was above ground! That was until Poseidon came along and cursed it because of what that stupid boy professed in the streets! One day, we shall have our revenge! Do you hear us! This isn't the last you will see of us!" One of the eel creatures shrieked. The group of eel creatures swam away, unsure of where to look for a new home. I brought the urn back to the temple of Poseidon on the animal reserve key. Just like before, the water, animals, and vegetation pulled themselves towards the walls of the temple. I did have to avoid the tiny animals on the shore line and in the small pools of water on the beach. The urn was left only half a foot away from the statue of Poseidon. Water inside the temple rushed towards the urn. The same water turned itself into a tornado made from water. The tornado spun for a few seconds. Then the urn was gone. There was a message that was made up of white light. "The citadel is no more. The young man will be punished accordingly. As for you, you should go back home. Some people might be wondering what you might be up to." The message stated.
I walked out of the temple. Then I used my tentacles in the same manner as before. My clothes melted away and I changed into my merman form. My tail pushed the water as I swam for home. I looked out for the eel creatures and the vicious great white sharks that might want to get me. I didn't see either of those. I took the time to look at the animals on the floor of the ocean. I did saw two pieces of coral that were growing on the ocean floor. There was yellow and red coral growing on the ocean floor. There was some beautiful fish that were swimming next to the coral. Then I managed to get myself close to the property of my former EA teacher. I swam towards the bottom of the ocean close to the island shore. Then I swam as hard and fast as I could. I shot out from the sea like a dolphin. Then I transformed back. My tentacles retracted themselves into my back. My fishtail changed itself into two human legs. My clothes had gotten themselves to reappear on my body. I managed to land on the grass of the property that once belonged to Mrs. Darkblood. I did roll on the ground after I landed from shooting out from the sea. I took the opportunity to catch my breath. I checked to see if my bike was still there. After carefully moving a snake off my bike, I took my bike to the road. I was by myself on the bicycle road for a while. Then I could hear somebody coming. It turns out that my brothers were riding with Nixie. My neighbor smiled as she got closer. The small group explained to me that they were driving for the third time around the island when Nixie asked if she could join. I wondered if they would let me ride with them. The brothers and my neighbor agreed. After riding back home, my brothers and Nixie were asking me questions about where did I go. I lied to them that I was on the island the entire time. That they must have missed me twice if they were going around the island twice on their bikes. Nixie told me how excited she was for the Autism Day Swim Day. I disclosed to her how much I was looking forward to it too. Then we stopped at the house we lived in. Nixie said goodbye and pedaled back home. My brothers and I took our bicycles to the bicycle shed. I felt happy going on my own adventures. I feel that hanging around my brothers wasn't good for me. Since they might be distracting me or destroying my stuff. It will be sometime before Autism Day happened.
