As expected, the princess and I didn't get a good sleep last night. I woke up as soon as there was some sunlight that seeped into our cell. I tried to sit up. I could feel a quick and sharp pain affecting my back. That made me feel hurt for a while. "Nixie. Nixie!" I called. The princess groaned as she was waking up from where she was sleeping on the floor. I offered my hand to her. Nixie grabbed a hold of my hand and pulled herself up. She sat down beside me. "Wake up! It's time to eat!" One of the guards shouted as he banged his halberd against the cell bars. That managed to wake Nixie's parents and guardians up. They were given their breakfast. "Nixie, I know that we don't like what is happening today." I mentioned. "Say no more Leo. I know what you mean there. We can only hope what the soothsayer told us is true." Nixie responded. She gently rubbed her left hand and arm on my back. "How are you feeling today?" Nixie interrogated. "I don't feel too much hurt. But the pain is still there." I replied. There was the sound of clanging on our cell door.

"Breakfast time!" The guard shouted. The door to our cell opened up. There was a giant platter that was set onto my lap. Nixie recognized this dish as a breakfast that she would share with her parents. We both ate the breakfast. After we finished, there was a member of the sharkpeople army who brought us mints. We used them to freshen up our mouths. While that happened, the sharklady took away the empty breakfast plate that we had with us. "That tasted good." I remarked. "Why are these villains being so nice to us?" Nixie pondered. I wondered about that too. "Maybe they plan on feeding us to their god." I guessed. "Teethios? Then there must be something wrong here. The Dark Chosen is the hero that comes to save the city of Poseidonae. The soothsayer revealed this prophecy to my parents for a reason. The soothsayer also gave you the prophecy that your tentacles were going to be chopped off soon. They will soon grow back right?" Nixie quizzed me. "That's right." I answered. "Did you finish your breakfast?" A guard asked the people in the cell next door. "Hands against the wall! Now!" Another guard screamed. "Be sure to eat those mints too. We don't want our offerings to Teethios being wrecks themselves." The guard divulged. Nixie was about to gasp, but she placed her own hands over her mouth. Then there was the sound of some chains that clattered on the floor. "Sacrificing us to Teethios when we are alive? I know why the sharkpeople would have such a barbaric attitude on life." Mr. Barnacle uttered. "No fool!" One of the guards yelled, he had some chains whip the cell floor. "Get your hands on the cell wall now! Don't try any escape attempts! This is the destiny of the royal family!" The guards yelled at the prisoners. Nixie swam up from the cell bench. She tried to watch the activity happening nearby.

She noticed that there was some shackles that was getting taken into the cell. Though something scared her from in front. "Get back!" A sharklady assassin surprised her from appearing from the wall in front of her. That caused Nixie to retreat back to the cell bench.

The sharklady assassin disappeared into the floor. She turned herself into a shadow. The shadow slid along the floor and was moving along the wall. Nixie sat back down. "Why was Teethios created? One of these days, Teethios has to be defeated." Nixie professed. "Never!" A voice shrieked from the hallway. Nixie and I looked at the cell door. The sharklady assassin stared at us. "Teethios is the god that reigns over the sea. It will last forever. Not even Poseidon could stop him. He is the most useless god people should remember him as! So it's best to accept your execution and stop whining about it." The sharklady assassin ranted to us. After staring at us for a minute, the sharklady again transformed herself into a shadow. The shadow slid across the floor. She didn't seem to want to leave the space in front of our cell. The royal couple and Nixie's guardians were taken out of their cell. They were shackled and chained to each other. The king was in front of the group as he was pulled by the chain leading to his neck. In a few seconds, the royal couple left the dungeon. "Leo." Nixie uttered. "Yes your highness." I responded. "Please. Just call me Nixie. I don't think calling me a princess is going to matter anymore. But I do have one request." She divulged. "And what is that request Nixie?" I asked calmly. Nixie reached out to the back of her neck. She took off her seashell necklace. I stared at the necklace. "I have a feeling that this necklace is going to be taken off my neck before the execution. I want you to wrap my necklace around my arm. I don't want the very thing reminding me of my family to be stolen from me." Nixie pleaded.
