In the interim between the Great Ahamkara Hunt and Ironsbane, Vorialis did many things. He improved in his fighting and Lightbearing abilities; he could now summon a blade of pure fire, and fly upon wings of Light. Soaring through the clouds above the Last City alongside his friends Dolos, Forus as well as Quinn Espo, remained some of the happiest moments of his life. Whilst learning these abilities, he dropped the blade on his feet and severed them both in half, and his wings could not raise him higher than a few meters off the ground. Once, he saw another Warlock try to cheat and pretend to fly with her wings when they were actually only gliding; her mentor chastised her that cheating oneself on a battlefield was equivalent with asking it to kill you. Vorialis watched this and decided that cheating was, universally, not a good option.

Despite his devotion to the Praxic Order, Vorialis sometimes felt their ways to be... small-minded in their approach to combating the Darkness. He started to feel this way after once suggesting to the Order that they study the Darkness-infested enemy out in the field, or capturing them, so they could study the Darkness more intimately in order to fight it more effectively. Vorialis's idea was rejected for the belief that doing this would expose the Praxics too much to the corrupting influences of the Darkness. Vorialis's discontent led him to make acquaintances outside of the Order, including some who listened to the ideas and perspectives held by the Warlock Osiris. Vorialis was fascinated by his nuanced propositions concerning the nature of the Darkness, and even became friends with some of his fans outside of his Order.
