Chapter 5
INTERROGATION

The Hunter's eyes slowly opens, the darkness of the room engulfing him. Moonlight filtered through the tattered curtains, casting a silvery glow across the faded wallpaper. As his senses slowly sharpened, he became aware of the faint creaking of the old floorboards beneath him, and the distant howling wind that whispered through the cracks in the windowpanes. He was back in the waking world, in the midst of a restless night in Anita and her Grandmother's decaying house.

"It seems that it hasn't been that long since i slept... time seems to flow differently between the Dream and the Waking World"

Blinking away the grogginess of his slumber, the Hunter sat up on the threadbare mattress. The memories of the Hunter's Dream clung to his mind, alongside of a haxy mixture of blood, beasts, and battles of the past in Yharnam. He glanced around the room, his gaze falling upon his new appearance and the assortment of weapons and tools he had brought from the Workshop.

The sleek rapier on his side and an elegant silver cane propped on the bed, both of these trick weapons brought a sense of familiarity amidst the uncertainty of this new strange land.

Pushing back the worn and tattered blankets, he swung his legs over the edge of the mattress and stood up. The floor creaked in protest, but the Hunter paid it no mind. He had to get outside, to clear his head and make sense of the situation he found himself in. Anita and her Grandmother had been generous to provide him shelter, but his instinct urged him to explore this new world.

As he tiptoed towards the door, careful not to wake the sleeping inhabitants of the house, he found himself in the hallway, the floorboards here just as vocal as in the room. He reached for the doorknob and gently turned it, wincing as it let out a soft squeal. Stepping out into the night, the cool air hit him like a welcoming shock, chasing away the remnants of his dream-filled haze.

The streets of Sal Viento were cloaked in a ghostly silence, the moon casting long shadows that stretched across the cobblestone pathways.

Dilapidated buildings lined the road, their facades weathered and worn. The town was a mix of eerie charm and neglect, a place seemingly forgotten by time itself.

The Hunter's footsteps echoed softly as he ventured deeper into the heart of the town. His eyes darted around, taking in the details of his surroundings. Flickering lampposts illuminated patches of the street, revealing glimpses of decay and beauty intertwined. He could almost sense the presence of hidden secrets lurking in the darkness, waiting to be uncovered.

Stopping at the center of a small square, the Hunter looked up at the sky. The moon hung low, casting a pale luminescence that bathed the town in an otherworldly glow. The night held a sense of anticipation, a feeling that this place held more mysteries than he could fathom. And amidst it all, the Hunter stood, ready to uncover the truths that Sal Viento held within its forgotten corners.
