Chapter 5: Coming Around

I groaned as I stirred myself awake. I slowly opened my eyes and saw my best friend and trainer, Ash. "Ugh what happened? The world is spinning." I groaned, "Both Pearl and Snow used Blizzard on you thinking you were the traitor," Ash said.

I shook my head to get my vision clear. Then I stood up and felt pain on my left hind leg. I looked and saw some bandaids.  "Of course.....exactly what Pearl would do."

Ash looked at me in wonder. "Are you the traitor?"

I looked at him in shock and betrayal. If he knew how many times I trusted someone before - the Kangaskan, some other Pikachus, him, and others - he would know the mental pain others have inflicted on me for many years.

Then his chocolate brown eyes turned to regret of what he has said. "Sorry Storm, that came out wrong... I know you aren't the traitor, I goofed up and I'm sorry..." Ash said.

Not exactly wanting to have to go back to the loner life, I forgave him and we went our separate ways. Then I saw Voltage walking away from the Cerise Laboratory. I wondered, what was Voltage doing?

I followed him, wanting answers. Then I saw him say "Jolteon." and next he went inside the door, and I quickly followed using Quick Attack. I snuck around a few Pokémon like a Cinderace, an Inteleon, and a Magikarp.

He put his paw up on what looks like a DNA code and I followed once again using Quick Attack, trying to hide the "Pi...pi....pi..."I always say when I'm running.

Then I saw a Pokémon that looked like Mewthree. I gasped then I hid again.

"So Jolteon. How is your secret coming along?"

"It's doing good. Snow and Pearl just used Blizzard on Storm out of anger. Right now I think he's knocked out and I'm ready to tell you my name since I double checked to make sure no one was following me- it's Voltage." Voltage said.

"Well Voltage I would say thanks for bringing me back, but- wait, I wouldn't."

WAIT WAIT WAIT BACK IT UP - VOLTAGE - HE'S THE-

WHAT!?!

Okay let's back it up to what he told us about his backstory - when he was an Eevee, he loved his trainer unconditionally, and would do anything to maintain their bond. He evolved into Jolteon when he didn't really want to. Then at the end of the battle with Snow his owner broke his Poke Ball, abandoning him and bringing Voltage to the verge of tears.

Kind of sounds like me. I loved Ash unconditionally, I never gave up just for him, I would do anything to maintain their bond, and when he 'abandoned' me, I was on the verge of tears.

Sounds like me and Voltage have a lot in common than we thought. No matter! The Traitor has been revealed!

I backed up in betrayal after coming back to reality, and Mewfour said, "Make sure they don't find out. Or else I will abandon you just like your old trainer has."

"I am fully aware of the consequences if I fail or seek redemption Mewfour. I have been able to keep my secret for a year. I think I can handle a solitary Pikachu and his ragtag Eeveelution gang." Voltage replied.

"Oh, that reminds me of the reason I called you here- I need you to kill Snow." Voltage seemed to freeze in shock. I know he has mutual respect for Snow. Maybe I can use that against him to redeem him?

You are probably like 'Wow, Storm the solitary Pikachu wants to give someone a second chance? That's gonna be in the newspapers.'

I know, I know, I didn't give a second chance to Ash immediately, and my second chance with Snow started with the wrong paw, but that's because they weren't electric Pokémon.
