Help From Heaven

Damien had no clue why he agreed to go to Heaven with Mole and Estella to find Gregory. He knew Gregory would be dead. It would be dumb to assume he wasn't. Despite this, Damien reluctantly agreed and sent them all through a portal to the one place he had always hated going to.

The three all seemed to huff in annoyance when they were met by the face of God- each one for different reasons. Damien hated him as a coworker, Mole had religious trauma, and Estella simply thought he was ugly. None of the three were necessarily excited for this mission in Heaven, but they were all teeming with curiosity.

"What would be the purpose of your presence here?" God asked formally.

"Holy shit, stop talking so fancy. You're giving me a headache." Damien complained.

God sighed. "Please don't say 'holy shit' in Heaven, Damien."

"Sorry, sorry." said Damien. "We're here to make sure Gregory Havisham is actually dead."

"I can assure you he is." God confirmed. "He was just here a moment ago." After hearing this, Mole's expression dropped. All hope he had of getting Gregory back was lost. He'd never see him again. He'd never see those bright eyes or that wavy blonde hair again. Mole really had been imagining things- and he'd have to do something about it before he genuinely went insane.

Estella rolled her eyes, not quite believing God. "Could we possibly see him for a moment? Just for some closure, of course."

"I'm afraid that's not possible." God answered. "Visitations are not permitted."

Whispering to Damien, Mole asked, "Is God killable?"

Damien shrugged in response. "I don't really know. I guess if my dad is killable then so is he."

On their way out, Damien was suddenly stopped by the sight of a few people he thought he'd recognized. He thought he'd seen Pocket, Kenny, Joe, and possibly Leslie's parents all grouped together staring back at him. Before he could process what he'd seen, though, he had stumbled through the portal back home.

Damien wasn't simply confused by the people he'd seen. He knew they were all dead- it wasn't shocking. What he was truly confused by was the fact that one person who he'd thought was dead wasn't with them.

Was God lying?
