Reese doesn't know where my room is and Jake wouldn't tell him. I get up and walk to the door. I listen to try and find out who it is, but I can't tell. I open the door and Jennifer is standing there. I stand there confused for a second then I let her in.
"I heard what you and Isabelle were talking about. Who is this Reese guy?"
He's a guy I dated after I broke up with Zach. He went missing about three months ago and we dated for about three months. He went missing while we were still dating. I got over him two months ago pretty quickly I might add. Now he's a demon and he doesn't think that's a big deal. Hence the fake marks. He didn't want to tell them because of what they are. So I'm pretending to be one of them so he will back off.
"Good plan. Someone is coming."
I turn around and Jake is standing in the doorway. He sees the fake marks up and down my arms and on my chest. He looks at Isabelle in confusion.
"What the hell? Why do you have marks?"
I want him to stay away from me. Now can everyone stop asking me questions and be quiet for a little. This whole now being able to talk thing is killing me and giving me a headache.
"Ya. Sure. Go ahead." Jake says. I close my eyes and focus on the time I learned to talk.
I see myself as a little girl. I'm sitting on the floor in front of the TV watching some kid show I can't remember the name of. I search the mind of the mini me and find her mind struggling to say something. She finally gets it and starts talking.
"Mommy! There singing!" I see my mother run into the run followed by my dad. They look so proud. My mother walks over to me and starts talking to me and I answer her. She starts the cry.
"Why are your eyes wet?" I ask.
"I'm happy. I'm really happy." I get up and give my mother a hug. I start to cry myself and I'm ripped from the memory.
I hit the wall and land on the floor. My vision goes fuzzy for a second. Then I see who pushed me, its Reese. Jake runs over to see if I'm ok and so does everyone else.
"What the hell Veronica! Why didn't you tell me?"
"Tell you what?"
"That your one of them!" He says with disgust. I get off the ground take a sword from Jakes sheath and copying his memories on how to use it. I walk toward Reese and whisper in his ear.
"I thought you were smarter and should've figured it out. I was fighting with them after all."
"You moved too fast. I saw you running to help your friend. You didn't have marks before."
"I hid them. I was in public, and it was adrenaline rush. Anyone can run that fast if they put their mind to it."
"Bull shit!"
"What am I supposed to tell you! I'm one of them! Get over it or get out! You don't belong her anyway. You belong in hell."
"No I don't and you know that!"
"I used to know that! There's a difference! I don't know who you are anymore. This isn't the guy I dated or the guy I was friends with since I was six. That guy was lost when hell took you as its slave. Let me guess. Your here on an assignment. No wonder you were at Spawn Point." I shout.
"I was sent here to distract three vampires, and I thought you were one of them. I guess not, and I'm glad about that. I'm glad I don't have to worry about hurting you."
"Have fun trying to find three vampires in a highly populated town like London."
"I was told that one of them was here and that the others were close by."
