"James, what are you doing?" Laquisha asked.
"Just looking," James said, pressing her tighter against the wall as he roped an arm around her waist.
Laquisha shook her head, unable to suppress as she looked up into her boyfriend's eyes. His face was so close now, his chiseled nose threatening to bump into the one she hated every time she looked in the mirror. Really, there was a lot she hated about her face, and her hair, and her body... and her voice and just her life in general.
But James was always starstruck when he looked at her. Always wearing that same goofy grin whenever she was in his line of sight. Laquisha had almost started to believe she was beautiful and desirable, perhaps even a work of art.
Or maybe James was just crazy.
"You can look at me across a table, babe, let's get something to eat," Laquisha said, pecking him on the lips before leading him towards the sandwich place.
