Raise your words not your voice,
It is rain that grow flowers not thunder... Rumi

Rey walked slowly back to the small hotel she and Poppy were staying at. Her feet felt like lead in her leather sandals and she felt hot and itchy in her thick red sweater Poppy encouraged her to wear, since she was walking in the chilly morning air to purchase their tickets home.
The beauty of the morning was lost on her and she couldn't even look up and enjoy the chirping of the birds or the fluffy white clouds in the clear blue sky.

As she entered the courtyard the hotel clerk greeted her at the door and announced, " Oh Miss Rey, there have been messages left for you by Ben Solo.."

At the mention of that man's name she stoped suddenly and looked up . "Oh no... no... no messages for me." She tried to say as politely as she could but she still found it hard not to be angry at the mention of his name.

Why would he still be trying to reach her? Did she not make it crystal clear that she never wanted to see him again ?

He'd somehow found out where she was staying and called her three times . How obnoxious could he get?
She just wanted to forget that any of this had happened and go back to her normal life.

Why was the sound of his name causing her heart to ache? Shouldn't she be clinging to the name Poe Dameron like a life line?

Ben Solo......

The name made something in the back of her brain prickle and tingle and make beautiful music like chimes in the wind.

But there was something else.

Another tug somewhere near her side that pulled ever so gently. Then she couldn't help being turned in that direction to see....

Him.

Sitting there on a metal bench like he owned the place. He smiled his most charmingly roguish smile, instantly disarming her.

Quickly she found her voice and she hoped it sounded angry enough to make him realize she meant business.

"What are you doing here?" She said as she tried to back away. "I don't want to see you."

Ben jumped up off the bench and stops her from running by seizing her arms and pressing his chest to her back.

"You can't run from me Rey. If your still looking for your destiny, look no further. It right behind you." He whispered in her ears. His hot breath sending new shock waves tingling down her spine.

'Oh god, I'm going to lose my mind'. Her brain sputtered and spun out of control. Her knees felt weak and wobbly, and she couldn't catch her breath.
How did he hold such power over her? He had captured her rebellious soul in only twenty four hours and she didn't stand a chance.

She felt herself being spun around , then suddenly he was dancing with her. He hummed the song they danced to just last night . Some enchanted evening.....

The lyrics repeating in her head..... Once you have found her never let her go... then fly to her side and make her your own....

"Ben, stop. Just stop." She said firmly but not unkindly. She had to let him down carefully. "We're not meant to be and you know it."

He had to hand it to her. She was as stubborn as he was. When he saw something he wanted he didn't stop until he got it. Nothing got in his way.

Until now.

He leaned in to kiss her but she pulled free . "Rey, please." He couldn't help the urgency in his plea. He craved her lips like he craved oxygen. He needed it live.

"No." She said firmly. She had to look away when she saw the pain in his eyes. The look of rejection was all to clearly written on his face.

Then her eyes were drawn down to the space between their bodies. Some how while they were dancing in the courtyard, the button of his blue blazer snagged on a red thread of her sweater. It connected the two of them.

She wouldn't believe what she saw. It was there in full color. The red thread of Fate. Of Destiny.

But she couldn't believe it.

No way was it that simple. No way could it happen to her like that.

"Go away, Ben."

He stepped back and she pulled the thread from his button, releasing him from the bond.

The haunted look in his eyes as he obeyed her command stayed with her all night . She had hurt him deeply but she had too. Didn't she? He wasn't Poe!

The next morning Rey was up with the birds again. This time they chirped and twittered as if to say " All is right with the world. We're happy and content. What about you?"

No, she wasn't in point of fact. Never had she felt more terrible. Her dreams and hopes were in tatters and she had to go home and marry man she couldn't love.

But then again was 'settling' for a guy that wasn't your fate so bad? At least she'd be married and her parents would stop nagging her about her single status every day.

She packed her bag, slung the wedding dress over her shoulder, feeling resentment for having to carry the atrocious thing around the world, and followed Poppy like a dog on a leash out into the cool morning air.

The taxi was ready and waiting for them. She sat down in the back of the car with a heavy heart and wasn't looking forward to the long exhausting flight home. It would give her too much time to wallow in her horrible misery.

They had just pulled away when she hear someone shouting. "Stop.. stop the car!" The shouting got closer and louder .

Rey twisted to look out the car window at where the yelling was coming from and saw a large man running at full speed looking like a charging rhinoceros.
" Rey, stop! Stop the car!"

She felt a mixture of dread and elation as Ben came closer and closer.

"Go faster .Keep driving!"

"Rey, I found him ...Stop!"

Suddenly he had her undivided attention.
