'Never be ashamed of how much you love, or how quickly you fall.
Love fully , love completely and don't ever apologize for it.
Don't ever be sorry for loving the way your heart knows.' Author unknown

Rey sat at a mirror trying to keep her hands from trembling.  It wouldn't be good to meet Poe with lipstick smeared on her teeth.

She gazed at her reflection, and saw that deer in headlights look. She tried to quell the anxious butterflies that were fluttering around in her stomach but they had taken up residence  and would not stop flapping their wings.

Rey hoped he would like what she was wearing. A gauzy white confection of a dress, that she hadn't had the nerve to wear before. It revealed more skin than what she was used to, she being fairly modest in her  choice of clothing.

She did work around teenagers and nuns after all .  Not much opportunity to be sexy. Even Duke never cared much about what she wore on their dates.  He just wanted to take them all off , which she would always refuse to do.

As she curled her hair, being careful not to burn her fingers, she  began daydreaming again.

Through the mist Poe would stand proud and magnificent.  Tall, Nordic and beautiful.

His blue eyes twinkled as he gazed at her, his blonde hair shining in the midday sun. He'd smile and reach out his hand to her. She took a step toward him but then she felt herself being pulled into another direction.

Unbidden came another image. One of an equally tall man but the exact opposite in appearance.

His whiskey brown eyes penetrated her own as he looked at her unblinking. His raven black hair softly blowing in the breeze. He could see into her soul and reached out a hand towards her. It was the very same man from her dream.

She took a step towards him , and took his hand. It felt warm and strong and steady. "Come to me Rey. Be mine, and be my love. You are my destiny."

  No... No...No!

She would not let that man consume her thoughts.  He was not her soul mate. He couldn't be.

A knock at the door startled her . It was Giovanni coming for Poppy. They were going to dinner then a stroll along the beach. And to offer an invitation.

"I'm inviting you to a party on my friends yacht. It will be a beautiful evening and there will be much food and drink . Come and enjoy yourselves on your last night in Italy."

Behind him was the one person she least desired to see in the world. Ben was a whole head taller than Giovanni and could see very well into the room.

His eyes immediately zeroed in to her and for a moment was transfixed.  She looked like a angel, a moon Goddess glowing with an internal light.

Not for him but for someone else.

She tried to hide , but he saw her just before she dashed into the bathroom.
Ben's heart lurched in his chest and his knees buckled.   He would  not  push pass Giovanni  just to get to her.  That would just scare her away.
But god , the pull was so strong he had to turn around and look the other way down the hall.

      Get a grip Solo.

Then he walked boldly into the room and saw her face peek out from behind the bathroom door.

Their eyes locked and he couldn't help saying,   " Yeah, sure . Sounds like fun . We'll be there."

Rey glared at him. He sounded as if he just assumed that she would go with him.  Like her date would somehow not happen.

He caught her scowl and he made an attempt to rub it in . " Oh, I mean if we were living in a alternate universe where people were given second chances and forgiveness."

That earned him another glare as she slammed the door in his face.

Poppy and Giovanni left before an all out war could begin, leaving Ben to linger in the room.  He had no where else to go .  He thought teasing and tormenting Rey before she left would be a great distraction.

He looked around the room and his gaze fell on the wedding dress in a plastic  garment bag. He picked it up and scoffed. Was she planning a wedding ceremony as soon as her illusion  materialized?

He dropped the bag where he found it the wandered around again.  On a side table there was an envelope containing  pictures.

" Oh, you got the pictures from the fountains."   He flipped through them then stopped at one of them in the horse drawn carriage.   "This one looks great of us."

He looked over her shoulder to make certain she was still hiding in the bathroom, then slipped the photo in his blue blazer pocket.

He touched bottles of moisturizer and makeup, then fell on a bottle of perfume.  Instinctively he knew it was her scent.

Popping the top off , he squirted some in the air, filling his lungs with the heady, intoxicating scent.  The fragrance  was her in a bottle. Exotic Sandlewood and sweet vanilla with a hint of warm spices.

He would have to buy some when he got home so he could at least have this part of her.

It would be the sweetest  torture.

There was an assortment of jewelry strewn across  a vanity table, and he was drawn to a pair of dangling earrings in the shape  of a moon and stars.  They sparkled happily when he picked them up. These would go perfectly with her dress.

He was surprised to hear the bathroom door open and she poked her head out.  Luckily for him , she didn't notice that he was pawing through her things.

"Can you hand me those earrings over there?  The little moon ones."

He had swiftly moved across the room and handed her the earrings .  How had he done that so quickly?  Duke didn't know one piece of jewelry from another.

As he dropped the earrings, Ben's finger tips gently grazed Rey's palm.  The sensation sent a zing up her arm and landing somewhere near her heart.

Had he felt that as well?

    You bet he did.

He smiled wickedly when she looked up and gasped.  That didn't just happen!  She took a step back deeper in the bathroom and he followed her.
He couldn't help it. He truly did. It was just so delightful , her standing there looking lost and confused and afraid.

He reached for her and swept her up in a waltz.
She heard 'Some Enchanted Evening'  hummed in her ear by a deep baritone voice.  Her small waist fit perfectly in his large hands as he slowly turned her in the bathroom.

Only Ben Solo could make dancing next to a toilet romantic.

He pressed her closer cheek to cheek.   She felt herself melt into his chest. He felt warm and wonderful. But suddenly she realized it was getting late.

" Stop Ben, just stop."  She whispered as kindly as she could.  She felt his sudden tension and he stoped reluctantly.

"Don't go . Stay with me , please Rey."   He was not above begging at this point.  He couldn't let her slip through his fingers.

But something pushed him back. He looked down to see her small hands pressing on his chest. She tried not to let the crushed expression on his face cloud her judgement.

  "I have to go."

He smiled through the exquisite pain. "Sure, yeah, I know. Have a good time with your destiny."

Devastated and heartbroken, he watched her turn her back on him and left him alone in the room.
