My first love

Part 5: hogsmeade

A few weeks had gone by, miley was so busy with classes that she hadn't the time to tell Ginny and Hermione. It was approaching December and the air was starting to crisp and become harsh on her skin. She walked to the dining hall for breakfast when she happened to bump into Hermione. "Mione, are you going home for Christmas?" She asked. " erm no, actually I'm going to the burrow I suppose you too have been invited?" she asked. " I'm not to sure, though Remus and mum are acting rather strange, they don't want me at Hogwarts for Christmas said it's too dangerous now my dad..." but before she could finish the twins had sat down either side of her and Harry and Ron either side of Hermione. They all said their good mornings when miley turned to Fred he smiled and grabbed her hand under the table. He rubbed his thumb on her hand while they all conversed over breakfast. She decided not to speak about her dad around the twins as they would get very protective. She also thought it wasn't wise as he was trying to kill Harry after all.

They conversed some more before a young lad in Harry's year called seams began to shout. Miley didn't make out what he said at first but once she did she felt her body go stiff. "HES BEEN SIGHTED, SIRIUs BLACK!" Her hand tightened around Fred's and she could see him in the corner of my eye, looking at George worriedly. He shifted closer to her and put his arm around her back. Harry threw him a glance then gave his attention back to seamus. "That's only a few towns away from here" another kid shouted " he isn't coming to Hogwarts is he?" A small first year asked fear plastered on his face. Without thinking Miley stood up revealing hers and Fred's hands and attempted to let go to walk off, instead Fred stood and came with as she stormed out of the great hall.

She could feel tears stinging her eyes as they became blurry. Without saying a word she and Fred walked towards an empty classroom and entered. Fred locked the door with his wand as Miley collapsed to the floor in fits of tears. Why did he want Harry dead? Will he kill her too? Why can't he just leave them alone? She felt scared for her brother and mother. Her dad doesn't know of her mother and stepfathers marriage. What will he do? Fred dropped himself in front of her and looked at her with sorrow in his eyes. He let her cry as much as she needed. When she finally calmed down he sat behind her and pulled her into his embrace wrapping his arms around her shoulders placing her in-between his long legs. She could tell this wasn't the most comfortable for him considering he was 6 foot 3 but it was quite comforting. They didn't say anything for a while until Fred finally spoke up " I won't let anything bad happen to you, you know that right? He said while planting a kiss on the top of her head. Since their kiss they had been acting as normal and Miley felt slightly confused but didn't want to ask about it , maybe he regretted it. She moved from his grip and turned crossed legged to face him. He sat himself so he too was sat cross-legged facing her. " Freddie, can I ask you something?"She felt embarrassed so she looked down. " anything" he said with a soft tone. " do you regret it?" She didn't need to explain as she could tell he knew what she meant. " of course I don't, why would you think I do?" He asked with slight shock in his voice. " I just, I thought maybe things would change after but they didn't." She began to stand up and compose herself for leaving the room, "Just forget I said anything" she said as she began to turn to lean the room. Before she could leave she felt a hand gently grab het arm and spin her back round. " I care about you deeply miley, I just don't think now is our time" he said after planting a small kiss on her lips. She sighed and left the room without looking back. He made it clear, there was nothing going on between them.

After a few boring weeks more of classes it was finally the last hogsmeade trip of the term. £her Mum and Remus wouldn't let Miley and Harry go as her dad was constantly trying to break in to Hogwarts. While everyone went to hogsmeade Harry and Miley would play board games together. This one time Harry had asked the twins for help to get into hogsmeade to spend time with Ron and Hermione whereas Miley was trying to avoid Fred as much as she could without tipping off everyone else. She sat in the common room on her own as everyone was either studying in the library or at hogsmeade. She brought her record player down into the common room and decided to listen to music while deep in thought. Sweet about me by Gabriella Cilmi began to play and she could help but sing along, and soon she was up dancing along to the chorus. Miley enjoyed muggle music and often tried to teach other wizards about it. She, like mr Weasley, love to look into muggles way of life. Miley hadn't heard the common room door open and soon heard Hermione singling along and dancing alongside her as Ron and Harry giggled. She must have been listening to music for a while. The kooks began to play at Hermione's request and they Carried on dancing around as people began to slowly come back to the common room, Ginny ran in and joined them as the twins came in deep in conversation. Miley heard George call Fred an idiot but then the two looked up realising what was going on and the chuckled. They sat with Harry and Ron on the couches as the girls danced around them singing at the top of their lungs. Miley caught Fred's eye and gave him a small smile. She then ran up to the twins and offered her hand to George who happily took it and joined them. When the song had finally finished she and George sat back down with Miley sandwiched between the twins. Fred's face had gone slightly red as-if he was slightly annoyed, he shot his twin a glare to which George laughed at. They all played games with the record player still playing in the background before more people came and they decided to head to dinner. Miley took my record player upstairs and ran back down to find Lee sat on a couch with George. They told her they'd meet up with them all later so she headed to the hall. Everyone had left but Fred stood outside the portrait waiting for her. She felt slightly annoyed as she still had feelings for him and felt as though he didn't feel the same and she needed time to get over them. They walked for a short while in silence and then Fred broke it once again, " you can't keep trying to avoid me you know" Miley decided not to look at him, " I'm not avoiding you Fred, I'm just distancing slightly" she replied. He sighed but decided to not reply. He knew what she was hinting at, their conversation where he believed they shouldn't pursue the kiss further. They Carried on walking in silence and joined the others at the great hall as they all told them about Harry's tricks on Malfoy. Miley sat next to Hermione and Harry while for some reason Fred sat opposite them whereas he usually sat next to her. The others noticed but didn't say anything.

When heading back to their dorms Miley sat at the window with her record player playing. The other girls were out leaving her alone with her thoughts. Breezeblocks played as she sat thinking about everything. Her dad. Fred. Her mums safety. Christmas at the burrow. She had the window open allowing the cold air to brush her skin. She heard a knock to the door and then it opened slightly. She wiped away the small tears that had escaped her eyes. She heard Hermione call her name and as soon as she opened the door and took in the atmosphere. She sat herself on Miley's bed and Miley turned to look at her as the tears began to pour. " oh miley" she said while ushering her to sit next to her. She did so and rest her head on Hermione's shoulder. She decided to tell her everything, her worries and fears about her father to which she just listened and gave the odd sympathetic nod. Then she decided to tell her about Fred. " what is wrong with him!" She exclaimed as Miley told her about the kiss then about the conversation in the classroom. " I just don't think he likes me back mione" miley said while hugging her knees to her chest. " miley he said your time wasn't now, maybe he thinks you guys are too young but it's not a definite no" she reassured. Miley sighed a quick maybe. Hermione stayed with her that night and soon she began to cheer up as they sat and ate sweets Hermione had bought from hogsmeade and watched muggle movies on Miley's laptop. She had cheered up majorly and they fell asleep while watching Bridget jones diary.
