Part 20: can i get a date?

Hermione and krum had gotten extremely close since his arrival which made Miley wonder whether he would as Hermione to the ball. One afternoon she ran up to Miley her face pouring with happiness. " he asked you didn't he?" She said smiling while continuing to walk with Hermione now by her side. " he did and he did it in the most Devine way. He took me to the library and had slipped it into my favourite book." Hermione responded in a dreamy tone. " I'm happy for you, you've finally gotten yourself a crush" Miley said to Hermione laughing at the thought of the Hermione Grainger with a crush. They walked to their next lesson which was study hall. They shared that lesson together even though they were in different school years. miley arrived to see Harry and Ron already sat on one side of the table and the twins on the other. And Angelina as per usual sat as close to Fred as she could. Miley walked over " thanks for reserving my seat Angelina but I can take it from here now" she said in a sarcastic tone as Hermione joined Harry and Ron. Angelina refused to move at first standing her ground. " hey Angelina I think I heard that Lewis jones was thinking of asking you to the ball, you should go and ask him about it" Miley heard a kind voice say from next to her. Without thinking Angelina stood up and made her way over to the 5th year ravenclaw. Miley turned to see it was Callie, " he hadn't really but it was very silly of her to try and make a move on someone's boyfriend. May I join you, Cedric is with cho" the young girl asked. " of course" Kiley said with a smile as she sat next to Fred and Callie next to her. The time Miley spent with Cedric brought her and Callie closer. " I was wondering if you guys and Ginny wanted to maybe have a girly day at hogsmeade this weekend?" She asked me and Hermione. " we could go and look for dresses?" Hermione said " well I already have mine remember but I will need shoes" Miley replied with a smile.

The twins weren't saying much as they were busy studying but Miley felt Fred place his hand on her thigh and she felt her body go weak. They all began to sit and study. Ron and Harry were whispering to each other about getting dates for the Yule ball, they were so stressed because they didn't know who to take. Snape kept catching them talking and gave them slaps on the head. Fred wrote something on a piece of parchment and threw it to Ron. "Who you going with then?" Ron whispered to the twins " my girlfriend you idiot" Fred said while pointing at Miley. " and I'm going with Lee cause all the girls at this school are backward except Hermione and miley of course" George added before Hermione and I got the chance to hit him. " so I guess you could take Hermione then" Ron replied in a huffy tone. " it may interest you to know that I already have a date for the ball" Hermione barked back. " who you going with?" Ron said a bit louder. Harry tried to get Ron's attention but his attempt failed as snape had stood behind them and hit them with his book on the head, only Ron and Harry. Once snape had gone Hermione said " it's a surprise" then looked at Miley and they both giggled and went back to studying leaving all the boys confused. They left the study hall and Fred put his arm around Miley's shoulder and kissed the top of my head " want to tell me who Hermione is going with love?" He asked as they walked " well if I did it wouldn't be a surprise then would it" she replied with a chuckle. He decided to drop it.

Days went by and Harry's and Ron still didn't have dates for the ball and they grew rather desperate. Harry told Miley he'd asked cho Chang but she explained she was going with Cedric. She still spent the odd day in the library with Cedric but they wasn't together as much as before she presume it was due to Fred. Ron had attempted to ask fleur delacour to which he was publicly humiliated by her response. Ginny bought him back to the common room as he was still stunned by her words. "She said never in a million years would a little boy like me earn the hand of a women like her" Ron said explaining the interaction. " what a stuck up cow" Miley said slightly annoyed that she would even say that. That same evening Harry bumped into the patil sisters and asked them if he and Ron may escort them to the ball. They agreed probably because of Harry rather than Ron and finally the two had dates.

That night the girls went to their dorm pretty early as they had a day of retail therapy ahead of them the next day. Once in her dorm, Mikey found on her bed a large box. She presumed It must be the dress from the Weasleys. "It must be your dress miley, open it" Hermione exclaimed in excitement. " oh wait" she said and ran to the common room to get Ginny. Once the two had come in and sat down Miley opened the box lid. Inside she found a beautiful red ball gown. It was long and silky. She pulled it out and on the chest part it had little golden gems around the edges of where her breast would be. "Wow. How come mum didn't give me that" Ginny said looking at the dress in awe " it truly is beautiful" Hermione agreed. Inside the box was a hand written card

I do hope it is to your liking dear. It was my dress to the Yule ball when I was your age. That's when I realised that Arthur was the man for me. Do have fun and send my love to the children.

"It was your mothers Yule ball dress" she said to Ginny after reading the card and handing it to her to read. " well it would look better on you than me anyways" Ginny said with a smile. She had received money too to get a new dress from her mother so she wasn't majorly annoyed by the fact that Miley received it. Ginny soon went back down to the common room and Miley and Hermione headed to bed. They awoke and got dressed into warm comfortable clothes as it was a crisp winters day. It was already December and the ball was in a week. They met Callie after breakfast along with Ginny and headed to hogsmeade. Molly had asked Hermione to go with Fred to get his suit to allow Miley time to get her shoes as they had left it last minute. They looked in the dress shops and Miley sat watching the girls try different ones on and asked of Miley's opinion. Hermione settled on a pink ball gown, Callie on a yellow and Ginny on a blue. They then went looking for shoes and accessories. Miley bought a pair of golden heels and a pair of gold earrings with dangling red ruby's. Hermione went to meet Fred and George to help them pick their outfits and Ginny, Callie and Miley headed to buy makeup and look around some more shops. They planned to meet for a butter beer by 4pm.

The girls got there earlier and found the group a booth.  They ordered 6 butter beers and sat and waited. They were so deep in conversation they hadn't noticed the other three walk in. Behind them was Harry and Ron. Hermione must of dragged them along to get there suits. When the waiter came back with the butter beers Miley ordered two more. Harry and Ron pulled chairs to the booth and took seats setting the bags they'd been carrying down in a thump. Fred pulled into the booth and sat right next to Miley and George squeezed on. It was a tight squeeze considering they were very tall. Fred lifted Miley slightly and moved along placing her on his lap so he and George had space. Miley threw her feet over the two boys and began to get comfortable. "I hate shopping" Ron whined as the waiter arrived with his and Harry's butter beers. They sat and drank and spoke about their days. " I'm assuming your dress is red and gold because Hermione insisted I match you and we spent ages looking for a red tie and gold cuff links" Fred said in a slightly annoyed voice. " you'll just have to wait and see won't you" Miley said while taking a sip of her butter beer. The boys moaned on about how Hermione had criticised all their outfits and how they never wanted to shop with her again. "oh grow up all of you and you will thank Hermione for taking you" Ginny said shouting at all the boys. "Thank you Hermione" they all said in grumpy voices in unison. The girls giggled at this and made fun of them for the rest of the night. They paid and headed back to Hogwarts for some food. Miley was so excited for the Yule ball. She just couldn't wait to see Fred in his tux.
