Outdoors wasn't exactly my type of scene. I've always loved the feeling of being in a cozy dark room with cotton blinds and a big screen playing all seasons of Rick and Morty.
But one way or the other, I always made it to our Saturday hangouts. Well, because I never really had anything to do on Saturdays so I always went with Harry to hangout with the rest of our friends.
That's why even though all I wanted was to lay in bed because of the exhaustion from the past week, I was instead dressed in casual clothing this afternoon to go see bullet train with the rest of the squad.
"If we miss that scene of Channing Tatum, I really won't forgive you, Mae!" I heard Harry yell as the sound of her footsteps became closer. I continued with my makeup and finally braided my hair into something that made me look like I hadn't fought a bear.
"The movie starts in ten min-"
"Jesus Harry I'm done!" I cut her off and blew her an air kiss as I passed by her.
As I took the keys to lock the door, Harry asked, "don't you have to say goodbye to your dad?"
"He hasn't been home again." I responded and she nodded.
That was a long ass movie. I felt lightheaded from trying to read the subtitles for the foreign languages but I still didn't let it ruin the movie for me. As the others chatted about the movie and walked towards coffee bean to grab lunch, I was behind and trying to keep up. I didn't even stress about it, I was too tired to.
"Are you okay?" I heard someone ask and I knew it was Kai immediately as he ran walked slowly for me to catch up with him.
"Hi Kai," I greeted him with a smile. "Yeah I'm okay, just a little tired."
"Sorry. How'd you find the movie?" He asked me as he opened the door to coffee bean and asked me to go in, with a smile on his face.
"It was hilarious. I loved it" I answered him.
"Cool. I enjoyed it too." He also commented.
As we joined the table, Harry threw me another of her suggestive smirks and I turned her down with a eye roll before sitting next to Benji and Kai.
"Gaby and Tasha have to be the luckiest people on the planet that you don't have to intern this summer," Harry mentioned as we looked at the menu which was obviously a waste of time, we always get the same thing at coffee bean.
"You make it sound like we haven't done it in the past," Gaby answered. Gaby and Tasha were one year ahead of the rest of us and Faye was a year below.
"My manager is a butthead, I almost couldn't come back to town for the weekend," Harry complained.
"Right! I had to watch my boss's dog while she was on extra hours and when she got home, she called to tell me the dog was constipated because I didn't give it water," Lesley was upset as she ranted.
