Metin drove like crazy just trying to get to his daughter. He hadn't liked the sound of her voice. She was normally a very independent and strong-willed young woman, but he had heard anything but that in their short conversation.

" I don't know who this guy is, but if he has hurt Alara in any way, he will have me to answer too." He spoke out loud. He followed his GPS to the edge of town, then found the road that took him down a long driveway. It all seemed so familiar to him, but he couldn't really tell since it was so dark.

He pulled up in front of a large house, not your conventional house, it was more of a glorified cabin. He felt as if he had been there before, but this house didn't ring a bell with him. He headed to the front door, ready to rescue his daughter. With every step, he was telling himself to calm down before confronting this guy.

The door was answered quickly, and he saw his daughter standing there behind a young man. " I'm here to pickup my daughter. Alara, come....let's go. I'm not sure what has happened here tonight, but trust me, I will find out." He ordered, reaching out his hand to his daughter.

Tarkan stepped forward, trying not to be confrontational, " Mr. Aksoy, please, we need to talk. I'm sorry that you got the wrong impression, but nothing happened to Alara. I brought her here to meet my parents before taking her home....but there seems...." He started to explain...

Metin held up his hand to stop him, " I'll hear the explanation from my daughter if you don't mind kid. Now come on Alara." He snipped, his eyes flaming.

" Metin, please let my son explain. Tarkan has done nothing to your daughter. I was just surprised to see your daughter with my son." Can stated, stepping up into the doorway.

Metin was confused as he stared at Can. " Well we had no idea that our son had been dating your daughter. And from the look on your face, neither did you. I probably overreacted...no I just didn't react in the proper way." Can muttered, as he stepped aside motioning for Metin to come in.

" Mr. Aksoy, please come in and give us a chance to explain." Tarkan added, as he clinched Alara's hand in his. The tension in the room seemed to intensify, but Tarkan was determined to face this like an adult.

Metin nodded cordially, but by this time his blood was boiling. " Can, how are you. You are the last person I expected to see tonight." he snipped as he stepped inside the door and followed them into the living room.

Sanem could see how hard Can was trying to mask his feeling. But she knew that world war three could break out at any time. " Metin, hello. It's good to see you. I hope your wife is doing well." Sanem asked, breaking the silence that had filled the room.

Metin smiled at her, " Sanem, good to see you as well. But I think we should move on past the pleasantries and tell me what's going on here."  He replied, giving a hard glance toward Tarkan and his daughter.

Tarkan stepped forward, " Yes, I think you're right. It's all very simple....Alara and I are dating, have been for some time now. I was coming home this weekend for dads birthday celebration, and asked Alara to come along." He stated, smiling at Alara and sounding quite confident in his answer.

The air in the room seemed to be getting thicker and it was harder to take a breath, as Metin pressed his lips together, " I see. And why am I the last to know about this. How long have you known Can, Sanem." He muttered through gritted teeth. He was sure that his daughter had been convinced to keep this relationship from him.

" Well Metin, both of us found out an hour ago. Tarkan said he was bringing a very special person home for us to meet...and that person was your daughter." Can scoffed. There was no way that Can intended to shoulder the blame for withholding information from Metin.....

" Dad, it was my fault. Tarkan wanted me to call you and tell you I was coming home for the weekend, and he wanted to meet you, but I wanted to surprise you." Alara mumbled, shunning the steely stare from her dad.

Metin reached for Alara's hand, " Come on, we can talk about this on the way home. I left your mother there worried sick." He ordered. He pointed his finger at Tarkan, " And you I will deal with tomorrow. But don't think that this relationship is going to go any further." He snipped.

He pulled Alara out the door and down the walkway toward the car, " Mr. Aksoy please let me explain. Alara,  I will call you in the morning." He yelled frantically, following them down the walkway.

" Tarkan, I'll call....don't worry I will call you." She shouted back to him as Metin shoved her into the car and slammmed the door.

Can went after Tarkan, " Son, let her go. You can work this out tomorrow." He said pulling him back toward the door. Metin stopped before getting into the car, " Can, this is low, even for you. But for some reason it doesn't surprise me." He shouted back, as he got in the car and slammed the door...

Tarkan slumped down on the sofa, feeling as if his whole had just exploded in his face. This was not at all the way he had this weekend planned in his head. And the fact that his dad and her dad knew each other was yet a whole other issue.

Sanem brought in some tea, " Here have some tea. Can are you ok? I can't believe what just happened." she said, offering the tea to Tarkan before sitting it on the table. " What do you think he's going to do?"

Tarkan raised his head glaring at his dad, " How do you know Mr. Aksoy? Why do you two dislike each other so much? I want to know the truth, please, just tell me the truth." He demanded, as his anger escalated.

Can sat there with his head in his hands. Of all the girls in Paris, France his son had to fall for Metins daughter. He sighed, " Tarkan this is a long story, and I'm not sure I want to get into it tonight. Maybe we should just get some rest and tackle all of this tomorrow." He replied, emotionally exhausted from the evening.

He knew he would have to explain to his son who Metin Aksoy was and how he knew him. A story that he didn't like to talk about. He would have to tell him how much Metin had meant to him, and how much they had hurt each other....

He wished that Akif was here to help him explain it all. Tarkan and Akif had always had a close relationship, Tarkan had always loved to hear the stories about their early days at boarding school. But Akif had always skipped over the part about the third person in their friendship.

Tarkan stood up and looked at his dad, " Dad I need to know, and I want you to tell me. I am in love with Alara, and I plan on making her my wife one day. So whatever problem you have with her dad......Well, your problems aren't my problems. I would let you ruin my relationship with Alara." Tarkan spoke calmly...

Can looked up at his son, " I will tell you, but sometimes problems from the past aren't so easy to work out. And to solve old wounds take both sides, but I'm willing to do my part.".....
