Hiii everyone so I'm Pre-warning after this chapter the story is going to take off and you'll be able to get where I'm going with the story ...hopefully ...This chapter was a little hard for me to write I rewrote it a few times but I hope you all like it so please read,vote and comment

Chapter 13 -The Yellow Room

(Charley's P.O.V)

I came home to a crying Mason in Mia's arms I groaned and sat down

"I don't understand why he's so fussy" nothing felt as good as sitting down at that moment and I just wanted to close my eyes and sleep but Masons cries prevented me from drifting off.

Mia laughed like seriously laughed"Its probably because of that ugly yellow room" I didn't think it was ugly its a neutral color

"I doubt that. Mason probably still adapting to the move"

"Let's test it," she said enthusiastically

"Fine" At this point anything would be better than his weeping

Mia picked up a fussy Mason and placed him in his room he looked pasted Mia's arms and gazed at the brightly colored walls he starred for a moment then had an outburst.

Kaylee who had been quieted the whole time finally spoke

"Now, that I think about babies are really influenced by the colors they are around most of their memories at this age are based on the 5 senses maybe MJ associates yellow with something unpleasant"

Mia had to add on "Plus, its a ghastly hue of yellow to bright" she visibly trembled.

Just add this on my list I walked in picked up my crying son and proceeded to call some painters to do overnight express service and of course, I had to pay extra for the last minute call

"Okay everyone slumber party at Mia's"

As we were packing up I was beyond ashamed Mason wasn't sleeping because of his brightly colored room being told that by my best friend and nanny made it more bearable but its ludicrous yellow such a common, soothing color caused him to become the exact opposite. I smiled his father didn't care much for bright colors either like father like son I guess.

This is just perfect I was not trying to prolong my time with Mia since she can tell when I'm hiding something and I haven't even attempted to tell her about my exciting and confusing first day

We arrived at Mia house and Mason was finally asleep thank god I couldn't handle another night like that. As I was laying him down in his portable crib Mia asked the one question I didn't want to answer.

"Sooo how was your first day?" she inquired while she scanned me up and down

Her question brought the memories back to my subconscious " Ummh about that" I glanced around for Kaylee

" Kaylee, do you mind watching Mason while I talk to Mia"

She smiled lightly "Of course"

Mia handed Mason to Kaylee without breaking eye contact with me. We walked straight to Mia's room and I slumped down exhausted from the lack of both sleep and sexual fulfillment I nestled up to the pillow and closed my eyes. Mia, of course, accompanied me taking my pillow from my arms.

"So what happened?" she searched

I started describing everything about, Not being able to train because of my attire, The eye candy named Marcus Wade. She listened intently thoroughly immersed in the story " And what happened after Marcus left?"

I halted "Nothing." I lied

"Come on, I know you're not finished come on! This is better then a soap opera come on Stop playing" she begged

"Well.....Aiden and I kissed " I whispered

"That's all?" She challenged

"No....'" I fidgeted with my nails and took a deep breath

"NONOTONLYDIDWEKISSWEBASICALLYDRYHUMPEDINTHATOFFICEANDIFITWASNTFORKAYLEEWEWOULDHAVEPROBABLYFUCKED," I said in a haste

"Charley, Slow down. I can't understand you"

I breathed "No, not only did We kiss, We basically dry humped in that office and if it wasn't for Kaylee We would have probably fucked." I let the pillow fall over my face hiding my regret.

"Did you enjoy it?"Even though the pillow I could hear the shock in Mia's voice

"I Did" I pushed the pillow harder into my face hoping to disappear "but I'm not supposed too He's my boss and a total asshole''The accuracy of my statement hard my stomach twisting

I felt the bed tremble slightly. I assume it was caused by her head moving with her agreeing with not getting involved with my boss" So, how do you want to behave towards him now?"

"You are asking a lot of questions" I groaned out and moved the pillow from my face to glare at her with annoyance. But I saw nothing but empathy in her eyes I sighed out

"I want us to be purely professional,I know he is just looking at me as a fascinating new toy and I can't allow him to play with me as he pleases"

She watched me for a moment probably to gauge if I was lying or not then

"Okay. so then ignore him and all his advances. Be purely professional as you want and within a week. He'll move on, He is a renowned playboy so no worries"

" Sounds good to me" I ignored the slight peg I felt about not being anything but a toy to him but I can't pursue him it's a losing battle.

"Can I sleep now? The painters said we can return tomorrow and Mason took up my whole night so I'm exhausted" I forced out a yawn

She smiled "Yeah, go ahead"

She left her room and soon I was knocked out if I didn't have to use the bathroom I would still be sleep. It was late I checked my phone it was a little after 2 After taking care of my lady business. I walked to the kitchen to get some water both Kaylee and Mia remained asleep and Mason was in his portable crib snoring slightly but what pulled my attention was Mia's laptop. I needed to check my email and since it was there why not I opened her laptop and quickly typed the password and as soon as I opened google articles popped up all of about Mason's car crash and I was hit with the horrific pictures of the accident as I read the first article I was nauseated

Local Men Killed In Terrible Accident EX-Girlfriend Suspected. Mason Elliott Wilkes age 29 was in a horrifying accident with an infant. Neighbors report the infant is most likely his son Mason Jr during the examination the police noticed that prior to the incident his brakes and engine had been tampered with Police suspect his EX-Girlfriend Raven Hills. She split a few months prior to the incident. And has been in and out of jail due to her violent and reckless behavior. Neighbors had filed several complaints against her due too potent and lethal outburst.

"Its true you know" I jumped slightly from Mia sudden appearance

"It can't be? Why would she do that to him"

Mia shrugged "I don't know but that woman...Masons Mother.... She's still out there"

I held back a sob "Do you think she knows about MJ?"

" Of, course not from the police reports they wrote that there were no survivors in the crash she thinks both of them are dead" She let the last part sink in

Dead she would rather kill her own son then let my brother have him it just doesn't add up. She left them, He didn't take MJ at least I don't think he did and if that's the punishment He got from taking Mason. I can only imagine how she was day to day.

I inhaled softly "Then we must keep this between us, no one needs to know Mia I need you to use all your contacts.We need to know everything about my brother's life after he left our neighborhood. That woman that was named in the report find out everything about her and if she really is Mason's mother We have to protect him by any means necessary"
