"Riya's point of view,"
Rachit didn't do himself any favors by raising his hand on me that day. How could he possibly doubt me? Isn't it true that I ruined my seven-year relationship for him? But I did not know when his possessiveness turned into suspicion. Just not now. By apologizing to him, I will not invite him to insult me again, as is usual. This is my final decision.
For the past several days, I've been so engrossed in my work that the storm in my personal life has subsided for the time being. Harsh sometimes call to ask about my well-being. For personal reasons, I never contacted Rachit again after that day. Yes, we are both frequently confronted with official work, but we are never alone. Someone is definitely with us, especially Shilpi.
Rachit's reciprocal action is not a surprise to me at all. He had always been like this; it was just that I hadn't recognized him. In terms of my loneliness, I've moved out of my apartment and in with Shweta. It filled every nook and cranny of that house with memories of me and Harsh, and now that he's gone, all I feel is remorse.
Although I know everything there is to know about me, I know that I have made a significant mistake. And as for my unfulfilled desires, it had buried even earlier them in my heart, which Rachit had reawakened by his presence. And once he left my life, those desires reappeared from the same grave.
I will not blame anyone else for my mistakes; rather, I will be punished or repent for my mistakes.
"The meeting has begun; where are you, Riya, when everyone is expecting you?" While sitting in the conference room, Ashish called out to me in hushed tones. He is still my friend, which is important to me, but he is unaware of the storm that is raging in my life. That's why he can look normal to me.
"Come on, Riya, we've been waiting for you." As Mr. Poonia stated, As soon as I arrived in the conference hall.
"Yes, sir, please let me know about any urgent tasks you have for me."As before, I am not interested in listening to protracted conversations and prefer to speak in short bursts. Perhaps some people in the office, including Rachit, did not like my new attitude.
"We'd want to replace one of your team members with Rachit's." Mr. Shinde gave me a thoughtful look before presenting his idea.
Team member? And with Rachit's team? Isn't it true that these people are wasting their time and mine by discussing this pointless topic in the meeting?
"I'd like to know who you're referring to." I was doing my best to keep my voice calm, but I'm not sure why my tongue becomes bitter when I hear his name.
"We wish to take over Shilpi's job responsibilities from Angad." The plant's head said, staring at me.
I looked across at Angad, who was seated by my side, and his expression revealed that he was not interested in changing departments. In his eyes, he was pleading with me to save him from changing departments.
When I saw Rachit seated in front of me, I could tell he wasn't happy with me for allowing Shilpi to work with me. But wait, who did all this? I need to know everything.
"Sir, may I inquire why you made this decision so suddenly, and if there is any specific reason for it?" When I noticed the plant's head, I approached him and asked him the inquiry.
"To answer your question, I don't think you need to know the reason behind every decision." In response to the plant head's question, Mr. Shinde responded.
"Yes, knowing the reason is important. Because the team you're referring to is mine. You can't just force somebody into it like this." The responses I gave them were in their language.
The plant head is well aware of my abrasive temperament, which is likely why he scolded Mr. Shinde for interrupting, and in response to my question, he stated Shilpi is interested in working with the new project team.
I felt like laughing when I heard his ridiculous excuse, but I disregarded it and asked him if he could appoint me as the head of the production team.
After listening to me for a long time, Mr. Dhawan, who had been silent for a long time, asked me a question. "Riya, if you have a terrible brain, how can you become the head of any department like this?"
"That is also all I have to ask. How can you agree to change departments at Shilpi's request, especially with the best member of my team?"
"Rachit, do you have any objections to Shilpi's changing departments?" The Plant Head paid attention to what I had to say and wanted to know his thoughts.
"Sir, if Shilpi wants, I have no objections." I felt like I should have slapped him a few more times that day after listening to him. How can he do that? Because Shilpi wants it, he's stealing my best member from my team.
"So, you've selected who will and who won't be on my team." When I saw him, I raised my brows and inquired.
"No, Riya Rachit had no intention of saying that." Shilpi interjected in the middle. She had the guts to speak to us. Now that she has interrupted us, payback is necessary.
"Shilpi, Did I ask you to speak in the middle?" Looking at her, I asked in an authoritative tone. My response presumably took aback her, and she was looking at me with disbelief.
"But, Riya, if I change departments, do you have any objections?" Instead of apologizing, she turned around and interrogated me.
"For your information, that is not Riya, but Madam. Because I am your senior and, secondarily, because of you, I must assign the best members of my team to Mr. Khurana's team, which I strongly oppose." I bluntly refused to accept her into my team.
Today, maybe for the first time, I replied to every person in the meeting; earlier, I liked to respond to people's barbs about my work talents. I understand actions speak louder than words, but in this case, words are also required.
"In this tone, you can't talk to Shilpi. You can't insult a member of my team like this in front of everyone." It did not surprise me to see Rachit stand up for Shilpi in front of everyone, but there was a tinge of pain in my heart.
"Mr. Khurana, you're telling me this when you come to my and my team's affairs as soon as you have a chance." I could have protested about his behavior if I wanted, but right now it's about my team, not about me. And I'm not talking about personal matters here; I'm talking about official matters.
"If this is the case, I'm curious who is preventing Shilpi from transferring departments." He took this on his ego, as he always did. All of the people in the conference room were surprised to see us; it was a new experience for them to hear our argument. What do they know? We've never disagreed with anything like that.
"You are free to do anything you want, but under no circumstances will Shilpi be allowed to join my team." I didn't take the time to accept his challenge, either.
"Do you know whose daughter Shilpi is?" Rachit inquired about my aggression. What do I have to do with the daughter of anyone?
Everyone suspected Shilpi after hearing his statements.
"Dad," she looked at the plant head and said, "I think you should reveal the truth to everyone."
What is it? What am I listening to right now? She is the plant's head's daughter.
With a deep breath, the plant head murmured, "yes, Shilpi is my daughter." Except for Rachit and Mr. Shinde, everyone had shocked expressions on their faces.
It suggests that he already knew about her. Whoever she is, it doesn't mean she'll use her power to force her way into my team.
"Oh, so now I see why Mr. Shinde and Mr. Khurana were so vocal in their support for you." Seeing them made me laugh.
"Sir, my decision has not changed, and if Shilpi needs to change to departments just because she is your daughter or has a strong interest in product development, I apologize. This is not a valid explanation." As I was saying this, I began typing on my laptop.
After learning the truth about Shilpi, I knew that the rest of the office staff would do whatever it took to include her. And this time, it already prepared me to respond. After all, I admit I am an emotional fool, but with my work, I leave no stone unturned to give it my all.
