Coffee (Usnavi x reader)

Y/N POV:
It was quieter than usual. To the point of it being creepy. The kindergarten was closed due to Abuela's death. I sat outside with Usnavi. "I was thinking... I've got so much stuff going on...so I'm thinking about all the people I care about the most... starting with you" he said to me. "Your about to move counties." I said to him. "It's not until August we've got time" he smiled. "Usnavi" was all I could say before I started walking away. "I'm a kindergarten teacher. There's plenty like me. The whole staff room is full of them" I said to him. "Stop, you're a dancer" he smiled. I smiled at him before hugging him. "I wish you didn't have to go" I said to him. He didn't say anything and hugged me back.

I was sat with a group of other people. Then  a door bursted open "BYE PEOPLE!?!" Daniela yelled. "BYE" Carla yelled. No one said anything. "Ungrateful. Our matriarch bites the dust and this is how we move on!?! We are not powerless we are powerful! If Claudia was here she would say palante in Porto Rico blackouts happen all the time! And we still threw a fiesta!" Daniela yelled at everyone. I sat up listening. Then I walked towards the three. "See she's listening!" Carla yelled as she gestured to me. "these three are right! Never would I thought I'd see the day Latina people scared of heat!" I yelled at everyone. We all sat down and watched Daniella singing to everyone. We all clapped along for the beat while I got up and danced. Soon everyone joined in! We all danced around having the best day ever! Soon Vanessa joined in and then Usnavi showed up! I ran over and he held my hand and he made an announcement, he was telling everyone that he was leaving! The whole street was having an absolute blast! As everyone was celebrating Sonny ran in, "hold up! Wait a minute! Usnavis leaving us for the Dominican Republic and Benny stole the girl I was in love with! She was my babysitter first. Listen up. This is what y'all want? We close the bodega the neighborhood is gone! The summon the dispatch and they close the salon they'll never turn the lights back on cause we are powerless" Vanessa joined in. "We are powerless" as Sonny and Vanessa announced to the block. However Usnavi wasn't changing his mind. He was still going. And so was Daniela. "Y/N forget what could have been so dance with me one last night in the hood again" he said as he held out his hand. I took it and smiled as we began dancing like we did the other night! Then as soon as we fineshed the fiesta the power was back!
We waved Cuca, Daniela and Carla goodbye as they drove away.

Timeskip

I ended up buying some champagne. And hey I had no one to share it with and my boyfriend was going away. So I knocked on his door. "Hi" I smiled "hey" he smiled back.  "So I know this was a very Vanessa thing... but I opened that dance class I was talking about" I smiled as I held up the bottle. "Tonight let's drink from the bottle" I smiled. I was trying to talk about things we could do but he kept trying to open the damn bottle. "You know I'm not going anywhere. You could stay" I smiled. "What?" He asked. "Listen. You could stay and save this place with me" I said. "Y/N-" "and your leaving the godamn country and we'll never see you again!" "I don't understand why your so mad at me!" He yelled. "Oh I wish I was mad" was all I said before I walked over and kissed him. I smiled weakly and walked away. Leaving him alone in his empty house.

The next morning was Usnavis last morning. And I had something special planned. As soon as he walked past. I pulled him over. "Usnavi I know you have to leave soon but please follow me! And no peeking" I warned as I covered his eyes with my hand. I dragged him inside the old bodega. Me and grafitie Pete had redesigned the Bodega! Pete had painted the background to look like his dad's beach. He walked towards me and looked around. Then he looked at me and smiled. "You did this last night?" He asked. "Yeah" I smiled. "Looks like my flight is cancelled" he smiled as he handed grafitie Pete money to get new cans. "Listen up guys you have a new job I'm not playing, tell the whole block I'm staying!" He announced to us! I started tearing up out of happiness! He walked Infront of me and hugged me I kissed him on the cheek and we stayed that way for a bit.
