Harry

I followed the doctors and nurses that were pushing the twins out as they went for their tests. my Heart was beating so fast. I was holding my breath as I followed them because even though the doctor said there didn't seem to be anything wrong it felt like there was. I couldn't put my finger on why I felt that way but I could tell that Edward felt the same way as we decided who would go with the twins and who would stay with Lou. As the first nurse turned the corner with my son I asked the closest one to me what tests they would do and would they do them at the same time or do one for each at different times. She informed me that they would check things with them one at a time and that the boy would be first. She also informed me that they would be doing some blood work and then a hearing test, sensory test, and a vision test. They would also be seeing how cleared out the lungs were to make sure they got everything. I just listened closely as she spoke and then asked if I could be in the room or not and she informed me that I could but that they wouldn't tell me the results of them until both babies had been fully evaluated and they were back in the room with my other partners. I thanked her before we all reached a room that was already set up for all the tests. I didn't know what most of the things were but I knew that it had to all of been needed or it wouldn't have been in the room.

They brought my little boy over to a big bed that had the sides pulled up so he wouldn't fall and placed him in the middle of it after removing his baby grow. He looked so little in such a big bed. They then made sure he was safe before starting the tests. I wanted to just run over and get him when he let out a loud cry during one of the tests but one of the nurses stopped me and let me know he was not in pain he was probably just cold or done with so many people touching him so i calmed down and took a deep breath and soon it was all over making me glad when they finally picked him up and redressed him  placing him back in his rolling bed and bringing him over to be next to me as they did the same things with my little girl as they did with him. She seemed to be more easy going only letting out a small grunt or wemper when she didn't seem to enjoy something they were doing. This all took around 30 minutes or so before we were on our way back to the room.

When we made it back I saw Louis asleep on the bed with Edward on the chair that he had pushed over to sit next to the bed holding one of Louis hands. When the door shut behind us Louis blinked his eyes open and looked around for a moment before settling on looking at the two beds holding our little ones that the nurses had pushed in behind me.

"Can I see my babies now?" Louis asked never looking anywhere but at the two beds that had our children in it

"Of course you can dear hold on just a second and I'll get them for you" one of the nurses spoke as she made her way over to the babies and picked our daughter up first and slowly made her way to Louis with her and then repeated the motion with our son until Louis had both babies in his arms.

He looked down at them and I could see his eyes tear up a bit as he leaned down to place a kiss on each of their little heads. "Oh they are so amazing I cant believe they are finally here and so little" Louis spoke in a quite voice almost like he was scared to wake the two sleeping babies.

"They really are perfect aren't they" Edward said looking over at them from where he was sitting. I nodded along completely agreeing. It was then that the doctor decided to come in and we all turned to face him knowing he was going to tell us how the tests went.

He slowly sat down on a stool they leave in the rooms for the doctors and cleared his throat before beginning.

"So as you know we went and ran some of the normal tests we do on all new babies when they are born and I am here to let you know the results. Let's start with your little boy, all things seem to be looking good as for hearing and such he passed with flying colors congratulations." Just then one of the babies let out a grunt that quickly turned into crying so Edward moved to see it was our little boy and made quick work on taking him from Louis and seeing what he needed noticing that he just needed a new diaper. Edward made quick work of it changing hime before sitting down in the chair still holding him and all of us looked back at the doctor for him to continue.

"right well this is a good thing however the tests didn't come back as well for your daughter. While her breathing and other sensory testing came back normal her hearing test was inconclusive." He paused waiting to see what we would say and Louis was first to ask the dreaded question

"what does that mean?

The doctor took another deep breath before he said the words we never thought he would say

"It looks to be that your daughter is deaf"
