Dear Avery,
We both should've known I'd get the last word in somehow.
By the time you read this, I'll be gone. Knowing you, you're probably reading this at the funeral, right?
I'm going to feel pretty stupid if you're not.
During our unofficial wedding, I never had vows, and believe me, I really tried. I have tried almost everyday pretty much since we started dating to come up with something, but words never really felt big enough to let you know what I want you to know. So, I'm writing this 3 days after we left, and I'm going to use every second I have left to let you know just how much I love you.
And by the time you read this, you will (or, at least I hope you will) be able to look back and remember those moments. And I would take those moments, those glorious, shining moments, no matter how few, with you over a lifetime with anyone else.
When you get down to it, it doesn't really matter how it starts, or even how it ends. All that matters is what you do with the in between, and I am so, so, so grateful that I got to spend my in between with you.
But you still have your in between to live. So go live it for me, okay?
I can't wait to hear all about it.
With all the love in the world,
Cassidy Locke.
