Two hours after arriving at General Hospital, Trina was out of surgery & was wheeled into a private room on the 8th floor. Spencer immediately went with her despite Portia's objections.

Marcus looked at his ex-wife in disgust. The fact that she continued to display hate towards Spencer even though it hadn't been his fault that Trina had been shot by Esme angered him.

He decided to talk to her alone so he took her a room & locked the door.

"What the hell is your problem, Portia? Don't you realize that he isn't to blame for what happened to Trina?" He asked angrily.

"That's where I think you're wrong, Marcus. It IS Spencer's fault. If he hadn't shown up in Port Charles & had that psycho Esme with him, Trina wouldn't be in this situation right now," said Portia. "She wouldn't be in a hospital bed right now after having had a bullet removed."

"For God's sake, Portia, Esme's gun was aimed at me," yelled Marcus. "She was going to shoot me & possibly Spencer too if Trina hadn't stepped in & taken that bullet. I understand that you're upset. So am I, but I do not blame Spencer at all for what happened today. Just be grateful that Trina is still alive."

"I AM GRATEFUL, MARCUS!!!" Yelled Portia with tears streaming down her face. Marcus just shook his head.

"Whatever, Portia. Now if you'll excuse me, I have work to do. I have to find out why Esme snapped & almost killed my daughter today," he said. He then unlocked the door & walked out of the room.

Portia then collapsed the floor & bawled her eyes out.

Meanwhile, Laura & Curtis had heard some the yelling going on between Marcus & Portia. Both just shook their heads.

However, they weren't the only two who overheard the arguement.

Dr. Kathleen Josephson had also heard the yelling as she had been heading to an exam room to examine another patient. She just shook her head.

"You haven't learned at all, have you, Portia? Sucks to be you, bitch," she muttered as she continued walking towards the exam room.

Meanwhile, Marcus went into a hallway to take a phone call.

"Detective Taggert speaking......yes, sir?........that's great.....Trina just came out of surgery, & the doctor should be speaking to me shortly...OK?....I understand, captain.....I'll keep you up to date when I get more information....thank you, sir...bye," said Marcus who then hung up & put his phone in his pocket.

Curtis had noticed Marcus go into the hallway & was curious.

"Who were you talking to, Marcus?" He asked.

"My superior officer, Captain Wayne Gomez. He just wanted to know how Trina was doing," said Marcus.

"Did you tell him about the case?" Asked Curtis.

"I told him only what I know for now," said Marcus. However, he realized that he needed to say something to Curtis.

"I need you to understand this right now, Curtis. Stay off this case. This is my responsibility. I don't want you sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong. Just because you're Trina's father doesn't give you that right," said Marcus sternly. "If I find out that you're sneaking around, I will report you to Internal Affairs. Do you understand me?"

Curtis gulped & nodded. He understood loud & clear. Marcus meant business.

Meanwhile, Spencer was now in Trina's room by her bedside holding her hand with tears in his eyes.

"I hope you wake up soon, Trina," he said as the tears went down his face. "I love you."
