Over the next couple of days, things were progressing quickly.

Except for one thing.

Despite successful surgery, Trina hadn't woken up, & that particularly had Spencer nervous.

He feared the worst, & Laura knew that there was nothing she could do about it.

There was one thing she could do, & she knew that Spencer wouldn't like it, but she figured that she would give it a try.

"I need to talk to you, Spencer," said Laura one morning as she sat Spencer down outside of Trina's room.

"What is it, Grandmother?" He asked.

Laura just sighed. She knew that this wasn't going to be easy.

"I'm worried about you, Spencer. You haven't left this hospital since you came here in the ambulance with Trina," she said sadly. "You haven't left her side except when Portia, Curtis, & Marcus want to see her, & even when they do visit, you're nervous & anxious. I know you're scared that you'll lose Trina because you love her so much, & I understand that, but you need to understand that you need to take of yourself first & foremost."

"I just want to be there when Trina wakes up, Grandmother," said Spencer with tears in his eyes.

"I know that, honey, but hear me out," said Laura gently. "I want you to go to my place, clean up, & get some sleep. I had Kevin stop by the house early this morning to grab some clothes for you. They're in a suitcase by the door to your room. Do you understand me?"

Spencer nodded. He knew that Laura was right.

"Hey, you can stop by later on today to be with Trina, but I want you to rest up first, OK?" Said Laura with a smile.

"OK. I love you, Grandmother," said Spencer with a smile.

"I love you too, honey. Now get going," said Laura who then hugged Spencer.

As he entered the elevator, Spencer knew that he was doing the right thing by going to his grandmother's apartment to get some rest.

However, he wasn't ready for what would happen once he got to the main floor.

There waiting for him in the lobby was Marcus Taggert, & he wasn't alone.

Standing next to him was Spencer's friend, Weston Chandler.

Spencer knew that this was serious.

"Heading home, Spencer?" Asked Marcus.

Spencer nodded.

"My grandmother is having me head over to her home so I can rest up. She's worried about me," said Spencer.

"I understand, Spencer. I'm worried about Trina too," said Marcus. "But if you don't mind, I'd like to talk to you for a moment along with Mr. Chandler here."

"All right then," said Spencer who then followed Marcus & Weston to a private conference room.

"I've talked with Mr. Chandler here, & he thinks he knows why Esme snapped & almost killed Trina," said Marcus.

"What's your theory, Wes?" Asked Spencer who looked over at his friend.

"My theory is this, Spence," said Weston. "It has to do with my daughter."

"Sophia? What about her?" Asked Spencer.

What Weston said next shocked Spencer.

"Esme is Sophia's birth mother, Spencer, meaning that she is your little brother Ace's older sister."
