Chapter 6

Spencer was now thrown for a complete loop. He couldn't believe what Weston had told him. His mind was now racing.

Ace had an older sister? Weston's daughter Sophia's mother was actually Esme, not his wife Rebecca???

"Are you sure, Wes? Sophia's mother is Esme?" Asked a disbelieving Spencer.

Weston nodded.

"I met Esme when my parents hired her to work for my family's wine company," Weston explained. "She & I got along immediately & started a relationship. Like you, I began noticing things about Esme that made me realize that she wasn't who I wanted to be with. When I met Rebecca, that's when things changed."

"How?" Asked Spencer.

"I began spending more time with Rebecca instead of with Esme. As I got to know her, I saw her as a beautiful soul & fell in love with her," said Weston. "Esme saw that & began interfering."

"Interfering? How?" Asked Spencer.

"Esme tried getting my friends to turn on Rebecca, but they blew her off. She tried getting my mother to turn on her as well, but thankfully my mom is way too smart of a woman to fall for that," said Weston. "The final straw was when Esme drugged me & had sex with me. She set it up so that Rebecca would walk in on us & catch us in the act, which she did."

"She got pregnant with Sophia as a result, right?" Asked Spencer. Weston nodded.

"However, that wasn't enough to break up Rebecca & me," said Weston. "She saw right through Esme & knew why she did it. Rebecca is very smart."

Spencer felt his blood boil as he heard Weston explain what Esme had done to him.

Still, it didn't explain why Esme snapped & shot Trina.

"So what, in your opinion, made Esme snap like she did & shoot Trina?" Asked Spencer.

"It's simple," said Weston. "I found out from a private investigator that Esme was living here in Port Charles & had had a son with your father. I decided to come here & tell her that not only were Rebecca & I married but that she was going to adopt Sophia. I think that caused Esme to snap."

Spencer just nodded. Now it all made sense.

Esme had only gotten pregnant with Sophia & Ace in order to get money, but with Sophia being adopted by Weston's wife Rebecca & Ace now with Nikolas & his new girlfriend Carolina, she now had nothing.

Esme had even hoped to use Spencer's love for Ace to drive a wedge between him & Trina, but that too had failed.

"Thanks for telling me, Wes. I appreciate it," said Spencer.

"No problem, my friend. I'm just glad that I could explain my side of things. I hope Trina fully recovers," said Weston.

"I hope so too," said Spencer with a wary smile.

After all of that, Spencer went to Laura's home, cleaned up, & got the sleep he desperately needed.

Meanwhile, while Spencer was off to Laura's home, Dr. Josephson was looking over Trina's medical records when something caught her eye.

In the file were results from a paternity test. Something was off about it. It got her very curious.

"Was this tampered with it?" Muttered Dr. Josephson.

As a doctor who had administered many paternity tests over the years, she knew what signs to look for when a paternity test was tampered with.

As she studied it further, something caught her eye.

Turns out that Trina's alleles, also known as a variant form of genes, didn't match either Portia or Curtis so that had Dr. Josephson wondering.

Who administered this test & why was it tampered with?

Dr. Josephson hoped to find out sooner rather than later.
