WITH NEW YEARS PASSING, THE LOOMING anticipation of the new school year grew closer and closer and the desire to wreck mayhem peaked for all of them. One Gossip Girl blast and the promise of alcohol and illicit substances, near-enough their entire school year had found themselves at Constance Billard's swimming pool, enjoying the final night before they were due to return to school the next day.

It was forbidden, and likely illegal party, party was thrilling regardless. The pool of St. Jude's and Constance was filled with those of the students, partying and having the time of their lives, drinking and smoking without a care in the world. Chatter ricocheted through the echoes of the grand room, including the occasional splash from those diving into the cerulean waters and pretending as though they wouldn't be in the most severe troubles if they were to be discovered by a teacher.

And Ophelia Baudelaire-Hughes happened to be one of them.

Clad in a small, lilac bikini, with a drink that was more alcohol and less mixer in one hand and a cigarette perched between her fingers in another, she grinned at Nate Archibald as he stood opposite, droplets of water gleaming on his toned and tanned chest as he rambled over the woes of dancing around his relationship with Blair. Ophelia couldn't help but find it humorous — it was like he was one of them, a teenage girl, as he fretted about the woes of his relationship.

Her hair fell in wet tendrils around her face and rested on her chest, having spent some time in the water and allowed for some freedom before school began yet again. Not that she wouldn't when it began — mandatory education didn't halt the fun she tended to have, which was the case for many Upper East Side teens. Partying and staying out until dawn came with the title.

She inhaled a drag of her cigarette, and nodded along to Nate's words, her hearing somewhat buzzed with the intoxication that was flooding her veins and slowing her movements. But, she was still attentive. Well — slightly, at least. "And, well, you know Blair," Nate was saying, frustrated with the lack of information from the Waldorf in regards to their relationship status. "She's not giving me anything to guess whether we're back together or not, and, after the Debutante ball . . . it's all just very confusing."
