The heart monitor pinged loudly as I stared at a honey brown eyes.

The heart monitor matched the rate of my pulse.

It felt like my heart was pounding like a jackhammer.

Suddenly the air in the room became dense. I knew she was feeling what I was feeling.

There was this strong attraction.... Her eyes flashed with Want.

My gaze landed on her slightly parted lips....

This isn't right, Seyi.

I reluctantly tore my gaze away and slipped the spoon in her mouth.

I watched as she chew down the food. She looked lost in thought and my pulse was still racing.

When I had woken up to see her awake, I felt a strong wave of relief and when she told me her story, things raced in my mind.

She had said she got involved in an accident and lost her memory.

What if she was really jemi-

Impossible !

Jemima is dead. I saw her corpse. Osas might just have managed to look like her and nothing else.

But Dr Marx had said something about fate bringing -

Nonsense Seyi. Your just hoping she would be Jemima when we know that she is dead.

She's gone. Six feet under the ground.

I slipped the food in her mouth absently.

I didn't mean to loose my cool. But when she had mentioned Michael... I felt a twinge of envy.

Michael wasn't here. I was. Then she just had to say
those words.

What makes you think it's your face I wanted to see when I wake up.

It hurt more than i intended. But she was right.  I have Zina and she has Michael.

Then I just have to go and mention her dad having a heart attack.

I didn't know I could feel so scared in my life as she began to have a panic attack.

She had just have to talk about dying and i really hated her saying it. She didn't know the pain she would cause to people.

I don't know it but if she had died I would felt something inside of me leave. Something that I shouldn't be daring to approach.

"What are you thinking about?."

She brought me out of reverie.

"Nothing." I said.

She eyed as she chewed her food. " Okay." She said softly.

"Have you eaten ?." She asked.

"No." I didn't even realise it.

She said something under her breath that I couldn't catch." You can eat also. After all the food is way to much for only me."

I glanced at the food and realised she was right. Had Lucy planned it like this.

"I'm nothing hungry."

"Nonsense. You forced me to eat so I'll have to force you to eat."

"But I'm really not that hungry."

"If you don't eat, I won't eat. " She said stubbornly. " After all, it's my fault you are here."
