Jeongyeon's POV
Silence.
Nayeon and I are now sitting on the grass not too far from the Han river.
When she woke up from her nap on my lucky shoulder, she suddenly whined like a baby asking for any food. It is already past two in the morning so there is no way there are any food stalls open.
I had no choice but to ask her if she wanted to check out the convenience store a few meters away from where we are right now.
She just finished her bowl of instant ramen from that said store.
And we both have been quiet since then. It's strange how this silence is not bothering me at all though.
I cautiously move my eyes to glance at her. She is just simply staring at the far horizon with the city lights. I let out a prolonged exhale as I find everything in this situation nothing but relaxing.
For the first time in all of the times I was with a girl at this time of the night who is not my sister, my friend, or my mom, a moment passed without me thinking of how I could just get on top of that girl. Like literally on top.
Nayeon is really different.
She makes me act differently.
She makes me feel different.
I smile as I look down and lightly shake my head. This girl is really driving me insane. I'm not even sure who I am right now.
Then, I heard her speak nonchalantly to me. "So what's your story?"
I slowly moved my sight to her. She is already looking at me with a grin on her face. I scoff and break our eye contact as I stare at the far horizon where she was previously dozing off. "What do you mean? And what's with that out of the blue question? It literally came out of nowhere."
Not to mention I believe we have other more pressing things to talk about at this moment other than what's my story.
"Your story." I felt her poke my shoulder but I did not want to give in to her taunting so I did not even pay her a glance. "Come on, Jeongyeonie. Tell me. How did you become the playboy you are right now?"
I just let out a sigh, not budging with the usual attitude that I show the girls who want to mess around my past.
I know their kind. They want deep connections. They want to know me more. I don't want that. I don't like it when others think that they can easily go past the thick walls I have built around me all these years.
I like Nayeon a lot but no. Not my story. Not my past.
BUT.
This girl is persistent!
The poking on my shoulder is not stopping at all!
What does she want to achieve with that question anyway?!
And why are we still here together?! Did she forget already that she has a warm home she can go back to?! What if she catches a cold after this?!
When I finally toned my attitude down and looked at her, she was flashing me her puppy eyes that literally gave me chills right down to my spine. ARGH!
I immediately looked away and brushed her annoying finger away from me. This girl is starting to get on my nerves again! "Nayeon, I'm not a playboy. Not— At least— at least not anymore."
Silence.
When I did not hear any response from her, I cautiously moved my eyes again to her side. This is so unfair! I want her and I don't want her at the same time!
