"That's it." Jeongyeon clicks his tongue and dials the contact name 'Son Chaeyoung' on his phone. He is still standing in front of the door of Nayeon's unit. He taps his foot continuously on the floor while waiting for the line to connect. "Answer me you little kid before I go there and kill— YA!"
Chaeyoung is already laughing from the other side of the call. "I knew you'd be pissed at this moment."
"Do you think this is a joke?! It's been fifteen minutes since you said you entered the elevator of Mina's building!"
"Mianhae, Hyung." The painter's laughter is still heard. "Something took over my emotions when I came over so I forgot to call you right away. Anyway... I am now walking over to where Mina is."
Jeongyeon scrunches his eyebrows. "Wae? I thought she should be with you by now."
"Well, I didn't know she had a celebrity student coming over. Guess that kind of information is still off limits to strangers like her ex-husband for example."
"Celebrity, huh?"
The painter quickly replied unamused. "It's just Dahyun's wife, Hyung."
"Ooh." The chef nods even though Chaeyoung obviously can't see him. "I see. But— but is it alright to bother Mina right now? I mean— I want you to bother her because I need the passcode to Nayeon's apartment but... is it alright?"
Chaeyoung's laughter is heard again. "What an indecisive man you are, Hyung. I pray for Nayeon Noona's soul to be at peace."
"YA. WHAT ARE YOU—"
"Chaeyoung!" A high pitched voice is heard from the painter's line that cuts off the chef's impending protest. "Long time, no see!"
There are a couple of voice exchanges from the other line that Jeongyeon simply eavesdropped curiously.
"I'm not here to see you, Sana."
"Of course, you're here for this penguin. But let me hug you!"
"Nooo. You're already sweaty!"
"Oh, come on! Don't be picky now. Mina already gave me permission."
"Ugh. But— Ugh! Minaaaa. Heeelp!"
"Why are you here, Chae? I thought you're willing to wait for me in my office while eating my food."
"Yeah. I will still wait for you in your office. But, first. Here. Jeongyeon Hyung is on the phone."
The chef perks up when he hears his name. It just took one more second for a clear voice to speak over from the other line.
"Yeoboseyo, Jeongyeon Oppa?"
"Mi— Mina. Umm..." The tall guy tries his best to speak in a calm tone. "You— did— did Chaeyoung tell you about..."
"Ahh. Ne." Mina replied quickly. "Wae? Are you still in the hallways?"
"Yeah. I'm... still here." Jeongyeon shyly smiles. "Which is why I would like to ask for Nayeon's—"
"Andwae."
"Huh?" The chef blinks his eyes in pure shock. "But— But, Mina—"
"I don't want to give you her passcode." The dance instructor's voice sounded authoritative. "You will not get it from me, Oppa."
"But— but—" Despite how he was yelling to Chaeyoung about the passcode earlier, Jeongyeon simply looked like a child who is about to cry this time around that Mina is the one rejecting him. "Minaaaa. I need that passcode. I want to— I just want to cook Nayeon some food. She's sick and— and I just— I just need to make sure she eats—"
