❥Shahzain❥
"Are you sure?" I ask, hands clasped together, barely containing my excitement.
Sobia rolled her eyes, her lips curving into a small smile for what must be the tenth time. "Yes, Shahzain, I'm sure."
"Alright then," I say, rubbing my hands together with a grin. "But don't blame me if I end up spending your entire salary on clothes for myself."
"As if I'd ever let you," she retorted, giving me a playful look.
It had been a month since Sobia started working, and today was her first payday. She was buzzing with happiness, practically glowing as she got her salary, and had decided to treat me by buying some clothes. It felt good seeing her like this—confident and independent, something I never thought I'd witness so soon.
We walked through the bustling streets, weaving between shops, while I pretended to search for something I liked. In truth, I was enjoying the simple joy of having her by my side. Her excitement was contagious.
Sobia paused in front of a store, eyeing a blazer. "What do you think of this one?"
I raised an eyebrow, giving her a teasing look. "Trying to turn me into a corporate man, are you?"
She shrugged, biting back a laugh. "It wouldn't hurt to see you in something less... casual."
I smirked, shaking my head. "I’ll try it on, but don’t get used to it."
As I stepped into the changing room, I couldn't help but admire the change in her. Working had given her a sense of accomplishment. And though I’d never admit it, I was proud of her.
When I came out, her eyes widened. "Well?"
She gave a little nod, clearly impressed. "You look... perfect."
I took a step closer, leaning in slightly. "Perfect, huh? Maybe you should make this a monthly habit—spoiling me."
Sobia chuckled, swatting my arm. "In your dreams, Shahzain."
But in that moment, with her laughter echoing between us, I knew I’d never need anything more than this—just her, and the life we were slowly building together.
After visiting five stores, Sobia was dragging her feet, looking like a zombie with a grumpy expression plastered on her face.
"Just pick one already, Shahzain. I’m exhausted," she complained, her voice tinged with frustration.
I flashed her a grin. "Pasand bhi toh aana chahiye, Sobia. Aese thodi na kuch bhi le lunga? Especially since you're buying it for me." (It has to be to my liking too, Sobia. I won't just take anything, will I?)
