Chapter 23-G

Thanksgiving Day
It was Thanksgiving day and my mom was coming over. I knew I was gone hear her moth about me not coming to see her as often as I should. I told Jrue to come over at 3 so that she could meet my mom. I was tryna finish up cooking when I heard a knock at the door. I walked to the door and opened it up immediately getting a frown on my face.

"Look who I ran into at the gas station" my mom said as she walked in with Sheena on her tail." And why didn't you tell me I was finna be a grandma" she said rubbing her stomach. My mom loved Sheena for some odd reason and I hated that. "Ma why you brought her if I didn't invite her?" I asked. She looked at me confused, "didn't you say you wanted me to meet your baby mama?" She asked.

"Ma I wasn't talking bout Sheena ass, we been broke up months ago, I don't even know if that's my baby" I said annoyed. Just as I said that Jrue walked in. She rolled her eyes instantly and I knew it was finna be some problems. " ma this my girl Jrue, Jrue this my mama Faye" i introduced them. "Hey Mrs. Faye how are you" Jrue said as nice as she could be.

Mama looked at her in a displeased way. " this is her? This is the girl you got pregnant? Hmph! I thought she'd look um.... Better." My mama said being petty. "Mama please don't start" I begged her. Jrue chuckled. I knew my mama had struck a nerve. I tried to rub Jrue's back but she shrugged my hand off and I knew I was in trouble.

Markel and Meg walked in soon after and then Jrue's mom 20 min later. It was time to eat and I had set all the food on the table. Everybody took a seat and Sheena sat on one side of me while Jrue sat on the other side. Markell ass gone laugh and I gave him a look that made his ass shut up. "Mama you gone blessed the food"I asked as we all bowed our head.

"Lord thank you for the food my son prepared, lord knows he shoulda had a good woman over here that know how to cook cause obviously the one he chose probaby can't". She said. I looked at Jrue out the corner of my eye with pleading eyes hoping she'll ignore my mama. I was gone deal with her later. "And lord thank you for bringing these strangers in my sons house for him to feed! And thank you for letting him get Sheena pregnant with my first grandchild" and that's when Jrue got up and walked to the bathroom.

"Ma what the fuck was that" I yelled. " yo that was disrespectful as fuck! You can't say things like that" I said. Sheena grab my hand " babe it's ok, she'll get over it" she said as I snatched my hand away. I looked at Meg, her fist balled up ready to throw hands as Markell rubbed her thigh to calm her down. I got up and walked to the bathroom. Jrue was walking out wiping her tears. I knew she was mad because I never see Jrue cry.

" you good, I'm sorry about her and I didn't know she was gone bring Sheena ass"I said. I wasn't sure how she was feeling but I knew it was all bad. "It's fine Gionni" she said as she headed back to take her seat. We sat back down to eat. "So Jrue, what do you do for a living...scam?" My mom ask.

"No mam, I run my own business. I make 6 figures a year. My house... paid for! My car... paid for! I have a degree in business management, accounting, and cosmetology! What do have?" Jrue asked. I could see my mom getting mad but it was nothing she could say because I pay for everything that she got. Meg had a look of satisfaction on her face and Markell was doing a little chuckle.

" so mom what bring you down here" Jrue asked her mom. " well it's Thanksgiving for one and I miss you, but I ran into some financial " and Jrue cut her off " I shoulda know it was something. You don't never come just to see me, your only child who's pregnant with your grandchild"  I felt bad for Jrue. I hated seeing her sad and this was suppose to be a day for family. Her mom didn't say anything else. "So Sheena did my son cheat on you? Is she the reason y'all ain't together?" My mom asked.

"Mom be so fr. Don't let Sheena make you think we're even together. She's the reason we broke up. She do too much and her attitude suck" I chimed in. Jrue got up " Gionni thank you for this delicious dinner, for all the delicious dinners you make for me and our child. We appreciate you but I think it's time for me to leave! I'm pregnant and I don't think it would be good for me to whoop yo mama ass while our child is still baking. So out of respect for my child cause fuck yo mama, ima gone on and head home" and with that she threw up her middle finger and walked out with Meg and her mama right behind her, but not before Meg bucked at Sheena ass who jumped with her scary self.
