THE ROYAL physician examined the old woman as the emperor looked at him worridly, "Thankfully, she's fine so you can rest assured, your majesty", the physician informed him.
"Are you sure? Nothing will happen to her, right?"
The physician shook his head, "She'll wake up in an hour or two, your majesty".
"Thank you", the emperor bowed his head with gratitude which caused the physician to panic, "Your majesty! Please don't, I merely did my job!".
The emperor rose his head up, "If it wasn't for you, she might've died".
"If there's someone you want to thank, please thank her highness", he pointed towards Raeul who stood in a corner fiddling with her fingers.
"I will surely do so", he gave the physician a plastic smile as he took his leave.
"How's she?"
"She's fine", he replied as he went over to her bed side and took a seat on the stool.
"I'm glad", Raeul sighed, "Thank you though.....", Sunghoon trailed off.
"You're thanking me, your majesty?", she certainly did not exepect him to ever thank him, "unless you're deaf", he added with a hint of sarcasm dripping from his tone.
"Tch, I shouldn't have thought that you're capable of thanking me", she remarked as she played with her dagger.
"You don't even know me, empress", he retorted, "oh, really? A jerk like you-"
One second was all it took for him to take swift strides and cage her between his arms, "A jerk? You haven't even seen the worst of me yet".
She scoffed, "You're really just a pile of garbage, your majesty", she mumbled, not scared by how his deep orbs burned into hers, challenging him which bothered him.
"I'll see if you'll still have the guts to say that to me when you become my wife", he challenged her causing Raeul to let out a humorous laugh, "Wife? I'll never be under your control, Park Sunghoon".
He gritted his teeth, "My dear empress, don't you dare underestimate me".
"Underestimate you? Oh please, you're the one at fault underestimating me", she laughed menancingly, a smirk curling up at the edge of her lips.
