SUNGHOON KNOCKED the door of his wife's room, more presumably, the guest room but when no response came in, he peeked inside the room and his wife wasn't to be seen there.
"Where did she go?", he closed the door as he was starting to get worried, what if the attack happened a second time?-
"Your majesty?"
A feminine voice tore him away from his thoughts, "Are you perhaps looking for her majesty?", Eunseo inquired.
"Yes, do you know of her whereabouts?"
"Ah, she's in her study, your majesty", she responded as he mumbled a "thank you" before heading away to her study.
He knocked on her office door, no response, strange, Eunseo had clearly told him that she would be in her office.
He opened the door and stepped inside to see his wife sleeping on her desk as some of the papers and documents were stacked messily on the desk.
He went round the table and his hand instinctively brushed a stray strand of hair out of her face as he took a closer look at her face and heard her mumbling in her sleep.
A soft chuckle emitted from his throat when he heard her mumbling, a soft smile curling up his lips at her adorable murmurings.
Her eyelids were beginning to flutter open as he quickly stood straight, wary not to let his wife know of his acts.
"You're awake?", he tried not to crack out a smile at her yawns and her constant blinking of eyes which made him adore her even more.
Oh, how in love he was with her without her knowledge.
"Is it 7 already?", she croaked out, "If it is not, will you sleep again, empress?", he joked out.
For some reason, she took a note of him a lot these days, especially the fact that he wasn't just hanging around with her only if needed.
He joked and sometimes, a slight smile would crack out of him which made her want to treasure that smile only for herself.
"If that's the case, I might as well sleep again-"
"It's 7, no more sleeping now", he prevented her from getting lost in her dream land, "Fine, I'll get ready", she let him win this time as she got up from her seat.
