SHE HAD somehow managed to indulge herself into work so much till that night only turned into the faintest memory locked up into the deepest parts of her heart.

Busy was good, she liked it, atleast she wouldn't keep thinking about how good it felt when he shamlessly drove his fingers into her.....

She slapped herself in order to not stray away her mind to that night.

"Are you fine, your majesty?", Eunseo's voice brought her attention, a worried look upon her face, anyone could tell that she hadn't been sleeping well.

Tension lined across her eyebrows, faint smuges of purple beneath her tired eyes.

She managed to squeeze out a tight smile, "I'm fine, Eunseo, could you ready a carriage for me? I have to attend a public event right now".

"I will, your majesty", she kept the files on the side as she gave a bow before going outside.

After that short conversation, Sunghoon and she didn't even exchange any threats or curses ss they were too tired to do so.

With the recent havoc of more mutilated heads thrown over the borders, it took a toll on the common people and even them.

She glanced at the crumpled note, she still had it for no reason.

But who was actually the one sending these threats?

It's said that the emperor of Westcrown has hid in the shadows till this day. No one ever had the opportunity to catch even a glimpse of his face.

The longer she stared at the paper waiting for a clue to appear, it didn't.

Eunseo arrived back to the her study, "The carriage is ready, your majesty".

The room in which the former empress resided, Sunghoon was the one who extended the idea of the room being transformed into her study.

She wasn't sure if he would be okay with it since it was his mother's but he simply responded.

"She's not in this world anymore, it's better to erase her traces from this room, it's for the better".

That's what he said.

No, she has to stop thinking about him. He was still the same man who referred to her as a mere pawn.

"Yes, could you just help me fix my hair and face a little? I could really use a little facade right now", she did need a little polishing right now, normally, she wouldn't have cared if she was still a general but she wasn't right now.
