Work Text:
jeongin walks aimlessly around his apartment, trying to waste time.

he makes his way through the kitchen for the nth time today, stopping for a second to look at his reflection in the glass of the microwave. he fixes his sweater (which somehow got twisted awkwardly around his torso sometime within the past few minutes) before running his fingers through his hair.

he leaves the kitchen with a sigh, heading right towards his bedroom where he flops backwards onto his bed. he stares at the ceiling for a few moments before turning onto his side and checking his phone for any notifications.

chan was supposed to be getting back to korea tonight after visiting his family in australia for the past two weeks and promised the younger that he'd call him as soon as he got home.

the elders flight landed a couple of hours ago (jeongin had received a cute selfie from the other letting him know) but chan still hadn't called him yet.

jeongin was getting restless. he knows chan was exhausted from traveling and probably just fell asleep, and he knows he was going to see the elder tomorrow anyways, but after weeks of minimum contact (as the younger didn't want to take any time away from chan being with his family), jeongin was really looking forward to talking to chan tonight.

he clicks on a random game on his phone and starts playing it to pass time. it occupies his attention for a little over ten minutes before he gets bored of it, shutting off his phone and staring at the ceiling again.

not even a minute later, a loud noise can be heard coming from outside his room.

jeongin sits up, startled, before straining to see if he can hear anything else.

"hello?" he asks after a few moments of silence. after hearing no response he shrugs it off as one of his neighbors, it wouldn't be the first time one of them were being loud. he lays in bed for a few more seconds before deciding to get up to get a drink.
