Niagara Falls
We got an impressive view of the Falls from the airplane. Our pilot flew over Niagara Falls and said something about the Falls before landing. He warned us not to jump in the water from one of the walks or tours we go on while there. Also one flight attendant warned him to stay away from anything gruesome or telling stories of those who actually fell for a purpose or reason. He stopped soon after that and concentrated on landing the plane.
"That's a fantastic view of Niagara Falls! Wanna go sky diving?" James asked, daring me to join him on a dangerous activity.
"Hell no! I'd rather have my feet firmly planted on the ground. Also don't you have a fear of heights?" I adamantly said. He laughed.
"Yes I do but the sky diving event is just for fun and we will be equipped with proper equipment." He said.
"Well you do have a good point." I said. "Please get back to me on that later." I said to him before we landed. He just laughed.
"I'll be sure to do that!" He smiled. Our plane landed soon after at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. We waited a while before getting off the plane because it was full with passengers. When we walked off the plane, we were surprised how big the airport was.
"Niagara Falls, here we come!" James exclaimed as we went to find our luggage and then getting a shuttle to our hotel. Soon we arrived at the hotel. We are staying at the Fairfield by Marriott hotel on the USA side. We can walk to almost everywhere. We checked in while James checked out what they offered us.
"Oh, we can do a helicopter tour or jet boating! I didn't know we can do that!" James excitedly said as he took a few brochures from their display of literature for Niagara Falls. "Also it looks like a good place to bring our kids! If we decide to come again, we should bring them!" He said, sounding more like he's high on drugs.
"Easy there Big guy! Once we get settled in our room, we can see what we want to do first." I said, laughing some when we entered the elevator with the bell hop. He had our luggage and was showing us the way to our room,
"What else did you get downstairs?" I asked as he showed me the various brochures.
"They have Cave of the Winds not too far from here. I didn't know it was safe for kids."
"IF we decided to see and do that one, we will find out if it's OK for kids as young as five years old." I said while looking through the brochure for that.
"Pardon me, if I may." Our bell hop said, interrupting us.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I have a young son at that age too and my wife and I took our son on the Cave of the Winds attraction. Our son did not like it because he doesn't know how to swim and hates getting wet. You're bound to get wet walking through the Falls. My word of warning." The bell hop said.
"Thanks for letting us know. We have a son who is five years old and another son who's four." I said.
"We left them at home with a sitter since we wanted to come here without our kids." James mentioned to the bell hop.
"Good idea! I wish we had done that but wanted him to experience Niagara Falls. I get a discount for being a hotel staff member." He said. "Oh I'm Zak. I'm your bell hop for the day. Also if you need a tour guide or someone with lots of knowledge on Niagara Falls, I'm your person!" Zak said as the elevator doors opened and he showed us our room.
"How much info do you know about Niagara Falls?" I asked.
"I'm from Niagara Falls and my family goes back a good ways in New York state." Zak said.
